The Rajasthan government has announced financial support for farmers under the Diggi Nirman Yojana 2025. Farmers with more than 0.5 hectares of land can apply for a subsidy of up to Rs 3.40 lakh for constructing a Diggi (water storage structure). This scheme aims to improve irrigation facilities and boost agricultural productivity.

To support more farmers, the government has increased the annual target for Diggi construction from 5,000 to 10,000. This will help tackle water shortage issues and promote water conservation. The scheme will provide relief to farmers struggling with irrigation problems and enhance crop yield.
Unlike before, when beneficiaries were selected through a lottery system, the government has now introduced a first-come, first-serve policy. Applications will be processed in sequence, prioritizing both previous and new applicants.
Farmers must own at least 0.5 hectares of irrigated land.
The land should be in a canal area with an approved irrigation turn.
A warning board must be installed after the construction Diggi.
Small and marginal farmers will receive an 85% subsidy, up to Rs 3.40 lakh.
General category farmers will get a 75% subsidy, up to Rs 3 lakh.
The subsidy amount will be directly transferred to farmer’s bank accounts within 45 days of approval.

Pucca Diggi (4 lakh liters capacity): 50% subsidy or Rs 350 per cubic meter of filling capacity.
Kachchi Diggi (less than 4 lakh liters capacity): 50% subsidy or Rs 100 per cubic meter of filling capacity.
Farmers can apply online or offline for this scheme:
Visit the official website: rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in
Click on “Farmer” on the home page.
In the Agriculture Services Department section, select “Diggi”.
Click on “Click here to apply”.
Fill in the application form and upload the required documents.
Submit the form.
Farmers can also apply at the nearest agriculture department office. Officials will provide details on the necessary documents and assist in the application process.
After applying, the documents will be verified by the department. If approved, the grant amount will be transferred within 45 days to the farmer’s bank account.
