Key Highlights:

  • ₹200 crore transferred to 1.17 lakh soybean farmers.

  • Final installment released under Bhavantar Yojana.

  • Over ₹1,500 crore given to 7.10 lakh farmers so far.

  • Mustard and peanuts may be added to the scheme.

  • Development projects worth ₹65 crore launched.

The Madhya Pradesh government has given major relief to soybean farmers by transferring around ₹200 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.17 lakh farmers under the Soybean Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made the transfer with a single click from Malhargarh in Mandsaur district, marking the final installment of the scheme for soybean farmers.

Addressing farmers during the Annadata Samman programme, the Chief Minister said that ensuring fair prices for crops and protecting farmers’ income remains the state government’s top priority. He added that the government is continuously working for the prosperity and financial security of farmers.

What is the Purpose of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana?

The Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is designed to protect farmers from losses caused by market price fluctuations. Under this scheme, farmers receive compensation if market prices fall below the minimum fixed price decided by the government. This ensures that farmers get a fair return for their produce, even during unfavourable market conditions.

The Chief Minister stated that the scheme plays a crucial role in strengthening farmers financially and increasing their overall income.

Large-Scale Benefits to Farmers Across the State

Since its launch, the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana has provided assistance of around ₹1,500 crore to more than 7.10 lakh farmers across Madhya Pradesh.
In Mandsaur district alone, over 27,000 farmers have benefited, receiving payments worth nearly ₹43 crore. During the event, Dr. Yadav also symbolically handed over Bhavantar payment cheques to five farmers from the district.

He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to implement the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana through a government system. The scheme has especially helped soybean farmers by ensuring they receive the full value of their crop and are protected from financial losses.

Mustard and Peanuts Likely to Be Included Soon

In a major announcement, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav indicated that mustard and peanuts may soon be included under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. This move will extend price protection to farmers growing these crops and reduce their exposure to market risks.

He said the government aims to expand the scope of the scheme so that a larger number of farmers can benefit from assured and fair crop prices.

Development Projects Worth Over ₹65 Crore Launched

Along with farmer welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister also launched and laid the foundation stone for development works worth more than ₹65 crore in the Malhargarh region. These projects focus on improving road connectivity and transport infrastructure, which will benefit farmers and local residents.

Key projects include:

  • Groundbreaking for a four-lane flyover on the Mandsaur–Neemuch State Highway

  • Construction of a railway underbridge at Pipliya Mandi

  • Inauguration of a newly built underpass on the Narayangarh road near Malhargarh Railway Station

Additionally, Dr. Yadav announced a new flyover at Pipliya Mandi, renovation of the Bhuwani Mata Temple, and development of the Kaka Gadgil Sagar Dam as a tourist destination. These projects are expected to boost economic activity and social development in the region.

2026 Declared as the “Year of Farmer Welfare”

The Chief Minister announced that 2026 will be observed as the “Year of Farmer Welfare” in Madhya Pradesh. The government plans to link farmers with agriculture-based industries and food processing units, helping them earn higher income through value addition.

He also stated that around 2.5 lakh new jobs will be created in the state over the next five years. Highlighting rural welfare, Dr. Yadav mentioned that women are receiving ₹1,500 per month under the Ladli Behna Yojana, which is strengthening the economic condition of rural households.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government will continue working with the same commitment to support farmers, women, and rural communities across Madhya Pradesh.
