[PMI Electro Mobility Solutions](https://www.cmv360.com/buses/pmi), based in Gurgaon, plans to commission its second facility, which is now under construction in Pune, to produce electric [buses](https://www.cmv360.com/buses) with a capacity of up to 3,000 units per year. With the greenfield development, which is scheduled for CY2025, the company hopes to more than double its production capacity to roughly 6,000 units per year. 

The company is optimistic about the healthy demand for electric buses in the 9- and 12-metre sizes from various State Transport Undertakings (STUs) around the country, and is preparing for the future as more State governments move to EVs to cut fleet emissions.

The **Delhi Transport Corporation** (DTC) has granted PMI Electro Mobility Solutions an order of 2,000 electric buses as part of the 2021 CESL procurement, and the firm plans to begin delivery early next year to fulfil the full order in batches of roughly 150-300 vehicles each month.

"Our mission is to contribute to the greater good of sustainable and greener transportation. The tractor is powered by a proven NEF 6.7-litre methane-fueled engine already installed in the T6.180 Methane Power tractor but with increased output to match the capabilities and performance expected from a T7 model tractor. It is based on the T7 with PLM Intelligence platform, with the latest Horizon Ultra cab. 

The engine produces a maximum of 270hp under all situations and has a peak torque of 1,160Nm. According to New Holland, this is a new engine map that maximizes the performance that customers anticipate in this segment. 

Greater productivity has been made feasible by the New Holland design team's efforts to maximize onboard gas storage by making full use of the T7's larger chassis.

The T7.270 CNG stores 178% more fuel than the T6.180 Methane Power (455 litres/79kg) with a capacity of 1,265 litres (219kg on board). As a result, the tractor is not only more powerful and capable of handling larger implements, but it can also work for many longer hours between refuelling breaks, thus boosting its productivity and range.

According to the firm, because methane is a cleaner-burning fuel, an SCR system is not necessary, freeing up room for fuel storage. Furthermore, the T7.270 Methane Power CNG can run on any type of methane or biomethane derived from cattle dung or slurry.

[Tata Motors](https://www.cmv360.com/trucks/tata), India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, delivered the first-of-its-kind Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered (FCEV) [buses](https://www.cmv360.com/buses) to **Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL)**. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) is the country's largest petroleum corporation.

Two buses were flagged off by **Shri Hardeep Singh Puri**, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, **Rajendra Petkar**, President and Chief Technology Officer, Tata Motors, and delegates from the Government of India, the Government of New Delhi.  Tata Motors is in a new era of fully decarbonised transport.

Tata Motors received a tender from IOCL in June 2021 to provide 15 FCEV buses to assess the viability of hydrogen-based PEM fuel-cell technology in India. These buses will be evaluated as a possible mass transportation solution for inter- and intra-city journeys.

These 12-metre-long buses were built in a lab at Tata Motors' R&D centre in Pune. These buses are designed for simple access with a low-floor design, have a seating capacity of 35 passengers, and were delivered after passing severe road tests and validations. 

**Girish Wagh**, Executive Director, Tata Motors, commented on the successful deployment of the first-of-its-kind FCEV bus, saying, "This is an outcome of the Government's progressive policies, IOCL's focus on future-readiness, and Tata Motors' R&D prowess, all collaborating to fulfil the common vision of clean mobility in India.
