Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) showcased new products and a new solutions-based strategy at Volvo Days 2024. The company aims to create long-term change for customers in regulated and unregulated markets.
Volvo Days was held in Eskilstuna, Sweden. It is the company's first major presentation since announcing the site as its new corporate home in August of last year. Customers may receive an inside look at Volvo CE's most recent releases and breakthroughs in electric and conventional solutions and its spectrum of digital tools at this premier event and meet the people behind them.
Excavators with Cutting-Edge Technology
The company has introduced a modernised line of excavators outfitted with cutting-edge technology for exceptional performance. Meanwhile, Volvo CE's vast range of electric machines, including its first electric wheeled excavator, demonstrated alongside its widest variety of charging solutions.
In keeping with its multi-pronged technology strategy to meet diverse customer needs, the firm introduced a new series of innovative excavators: the Volvo EC500, EC400, and EC230.
The product range, which also includes the EC370, EC210, and ECR145, incorporates intelligent technology in a new electro-hydraulic system and a better human-machine interface (HMI). It is intended to improve fuel efficiency, productivity, safety, and total cost of ownership.
Among the displays at Volvo Days is an exclusive sneak glimpse at the all-new A40, which will be released later this year and will build on Volvo CE's tradition as an industry pioneer of articulated haulers, as well as the introduction of the R60 and R70 rigid haulers, which herald an increase of hauling options for customers.
Like other standard Volvo CE machines, the latest additions to the portfolio can be powered by renewable HVO100 (hydrogenated vegetable oil), dramatically reducing carbon emissions compared to typical diesel.
New Electric Construction Vehicles
In addition to modernizing its traditional offerings, Volvo CE has introduced a variety of electric vehicles in the midsize market. Along with previously offered electric solutions such as the 23-ton EC230 Electric excavator and the cable-connected EW240 Electric MH, the company has introduced a slew of new battery electric equipment.
These include the EWR150 Electric, Volvo's first electric wheeled excavator, as well as the L90 Electric and L120 Electric wheel loaders, which will be introduced in limited volumes across selective markets beginning in late 2024.
They are supported by the company's biggest choice of charging solutions ever, with the introduction of the PU40 mobile power unit for compact equipment, which is accessible in certain countries and is a welcome complement to the already available PU500 mobile power unit.
CMV360 Says
Volvo CE showed off new products and a big plan at Volvo Days 2024. They care about customers requirements and the environment. They're using advanced technology and making more electric construction machines.
This is a good sign for the future of construction gear, showing they're all about new ideas and being eco-friendly.
