Urja Mobility has introduced a new Battery Leasing Program aimed at e-rickshaw drivers in ten Indian cities. The initiative aims to ease the financial burden of battery ownership through an affordable and flexible leasing model.

Key Details:

Leasing Model: Drivers can pay a monthly fee for high-performance Lithium-Ion batteries, with the option to own the battery after 12 to 24 months.

Cities Covered for the first Phase: Agra, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Siliguri, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, and Puri, chosen for their high EV adoption rates and tourist traffic.

Benefits of Lithium-Ion Batteries: Longer life cycles, reduced maintenance, and better thermal performance than Lead Acid batteries.

Advanced Technology: Includes Battery Management Systems (BMS) with data analytics and AI for monitoring health, predicting issues, and optimizing performance.

Support Infrastructure: Service centers in each city for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, aiming for high vehicle uptime.

Market Impact: Targets 50,000 e-rickshaw drivers to switch from Lead Acid to Lithium-Ion batteries, promoting economic and environmental benefits.
