This is the third major order from UPSRTC within a year, bringing the total to over 3,500 units.

Tata Motors, India's top commercial vehicle manufacturer, has secured an order for 1,297 bus chassis from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). 

This is the third major order from UPSRTC within a year, bringing the total to over 3,500 units. The delivery of these chassis will be carried out in phases, according to mutually agreed terms between Tata Motors and UPSRTC.

Order Details

The order, secured through a competitive e-bidding process, includes Tata’s LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis. These buses are designed for intercity and long-distance travel, offering superior performance, passenger comfort, and a low total cost of ownership. 

Statement from Tata Motors

Anand S, Vice President and Head of Tata Motors' Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, expressed gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh Government and UPSRTC for trusting Tata Motors with the order. He highlighted that this order showcases Tata Motors' commitment to providing advanced mobility solutions, affirming their technological expertise and reliability in the public transport sector.

Previous Orders and Growing Partnerships

This new order comes after Tata Motors' successful delivery of 1,350 units in December 2023 and 1,000 units in October 2024. The consistent performance and ability to meet UPSRTC’s requirements solidify Tata Motors' position as the preferred choice for State Transport Undertakings (STUs) and fleet owners across India.
