Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer of EKA Mobility, expressed the company’s dedication to improving public transportation in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized that these orders reflect the company's focus on delivering sustainable and efficient mobility solutions across India.
EKA Mobility’s Role in India’s Electric Vehicle Growth
EKA Mobility, headquartered in Pune, is a rising player in India's electric vehicle (EV) sector. The company offers a range of electric buses, including 9-meter and 12-meter variants, with advanced electric drivetrains and energy-efficient designs.
The company collaborates with state transport corporations and private operators to supply electric buses, including charging solutions and fleet management services. EKA Mobility is committed to supporting India’s shift towards cleaner transportation through sustainable mobility solutions.
In addition, EKA Mobility is actively involved in research and development to enhance vehicle efficiency, battery technology, and smart connectivity.
Supporting Government Initiatives for Clean Transport
EKA Mobility’s efforts are aligned with the government’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme, contributing to the adoption of cleaner and more sustainable transport technologies.
Benefits of Switching from diesel buses to electric buses
Switching from diesel buses to electric buses have multiple benefits. If 1,000 electric buses replace 1,000 diesel buses, it can save ₹70 crore in fuel costs annually. This change would also avoid using 120 lakh liters of diesel, which is equivalent to the amount absorbed by 15 lakh trees.
Additionally, about 6 lakh passengers would benefit daily, and there would be a reduction of 32,400 tons of CO2 emissions from tailpipes, contributing to a cleaner environment.
