In a major development, Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has secured a significant order from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) for the supply of 1,350 units of the Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis. The order was secured through a rigorous and competitive e-bidding process facilitated by the Government's tendering system.

The Tata LPO 1618, is manufactured for intercity and long-distance travel and it follows the BS6 emission protocols, demonstrating Tata Motors' commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The company asserts that the LPO 1618 offers a best-in-class total cost of ownership (TCO), combining efficiency with eco-friendliness.

Tata Motors wins this order after a competitive e-bidding process through the Government procurement process, and the bus chassis will be delivered in stages.

Rohit Srivastava, Vice President and Business Head – CV Passengers, Tata Motors, expressed his enthusiasm about the achievement, stating, "The Tata LPO 1618 is a proven workhorse with its robust build, quality engineering, and low maintenance. It is developed and engineered to provide best-in-class productivity, high uptime, and low total cost of ownership. We look forward to starting supply by UPSRTC's instructions."

The bus chassis will be delivered to UPSRTC in a phased manner, ensuring seamless integration into the state's public transport system. Tata Motors, with a track record of supplying over 58,000 buses to various state and public transport undertakings, continues to reinforce its position as a trusted partner in meeting the diverse transportation needs of the country.

This strategic collaboration between Tata Motors and UPSRTC is expected to bring change in public transportation infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, offering commuters a reliable and efficient means of travel while contributing to the state's economic and environmental goals.
