Tata Motors has reported a strong performance in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment for December 2025, registering total sales of 42,508 units. This marks a 25% year-on-year growth compared to 33,875 units sold in December 2024. The growth was supported by steady domestic demand and a sharp rise in exports, reinforcing Tata Motors’ strong position in the Indian CV market.

Strong Growth in Domestic Commercial Vehicle Sales

In the domestic market, Tata Motors sold 40,057 commercial vehicles in December 2025, recording a 24% growth over 32,369 units sold in the same month last year. Almost all key segments showed positive momentum, indicating healthy demand across logistics, infrastructure, passenger transport, and last-mile delivery.

HCV Trucks

The Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) segment recorded 12,483 units, growing 31% YoY. This growth reflects strong demand from infrastructure projects, mining activities, and long-haul logistics.

ILMCV Trucks

The ILMCV segment showed the highest domestic growth at 40%, with sales reaching 7,959 units. Rising demand for medium-duty trucks used in regional transport and distribution supported this segment.

Passenger Carriers

Passenger Carriers remained stable with 4,167 units, registering a 1% growth. Demand from staff transportation, school buses, and public mobility kept the segment steady.

SCV Cargo and Pickup

The SCV Cargo and Pickup category continued to play a major role with 15,448 units, posting a 19% growth. This segment remains a key driver for last-mile delivery and small business operations.

Exports Show Strong Momentum

Tata Motors CV exports surged by 63%, reaching 2,451 units in December 2025 compared to 1,506 units last year. This sharp rise highlights the growing acceptance of Tata commercial vehicles in international markets.
