Tata Motors' top executives talked about the challenges in the small commercial vehicle market. They mentioned a slowdown in demand because of a few reasons: less online shopping, competition from electric three-wheelers, and unusual rain affecting rural areas. Industry experts also noticed these issues.
Girish Wagh, executive director of Tata Motors, stated, "SCV pickup, I believe, bottomed down in Q3 and began to go higher. The transformation in (SCV) pickup is happening, and we should see results as we move forward."
During the call, Tata Motors' group CFO, PB Balaji, stated, "I believe we have reached the bottom. Green shoots are also beginning to grow in the small commercial vehicle segment, which we have stated we will continue to work on.
