SML Isuzu announces the appointment of Yasushi Nishikawa as its new Managing Director and CEO, effective April 17, 2025, following the resignation of Junya Yamanishi.

SML Isuzu Limited has announced leadership changes after Junya Yamanishi resigned as Managing Director and CEO. The Board of Directors approved this decision in a meeting on March 21, 2025. Yamanishi will step down on April 16, 2025, due to a change in his role at Sumitomo Corporation, Japan. The Board has appointed Yasushi Nishikawa as the new Managing Director and CEO. His five-year term will begin on April 17, 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
Nishikawa has over 38 years of global experience with Sumitomo Corporation. He has held leadership roles in Japan, Mexico, and other regions. He previously worked as an executive at Mazda Motor Manufacturing de Mexico and Sumitomo Corporation de Mexico.
The Board has also reappointed Anuj Kumar Sethi as Associate Vice President (AVP) of the corporate Planning, IT, and Special Application Cell. His one-year term will start on April 1, 2025. Sethi has been with SML Isuzu since 1988 and will continue handling corporate planning, digital projects, and specialized vehicle applications.
