Key Highlights:

  • 13-litre powertrain with 10% better fuel economy.

  • Torque output from 2,800 Nm to 3,800 Nm.

  • 97% usable fuel tank capacity.

  • Tested for Indian operating conditions.

  • Customizable with service and finance support.

Swedish commercial vehicle giant Scania has introduced its all-new SUPER truck series in India, designed for the mining, construction, and long-haul transport sectors. The new series promises over 10% fuel savings, higher uptime, and improved operational efficiency, making it a strong choice for businesses looking to lower running costs.

13-Litre Powertrain with Improved Efficiency

The new SUPER trucks are powered by a 13-litre powertrain that delivers over 10% better fuel economy compared to the previous generation. This engine is engineered to reduce emissions and enhance vehicle uptime, offering operators both cost and environmental benefits.

Advanced Gearbox and High Torque Output

Scania has equipped the SUPER range with an advanced gearbox that delivers torque between 2,800 Nm and 3,800 Nm. This enables smoother gear shifts, reduces wear and tear, and extends component life, all crucial factors for commercial operators running heavy-duty trucks.

Optimized Fuel System for Extended Range

One of the key highlights of the SUPER series is its fuel optimization system. The trucks now utilize up to 97% of total fuel tank capacity, allowing for a longer driving range and reducing downtime for refueling, a significant advantage for fleet operators who need faster turnaround times.

Designed for Indian Conditions

According to Silvio Munhoz, Managing Director of Scania Commercial Vehicles India, “SUPER is built around what matters most to you, over 10% fuel savings, higher uptime, and clear cost advantages that strengthen your bottom line.”

Scania has ensured that the SUPER series is tested and engineered specifically for Indian operating conditions, focusing on reliability and durability in challenging terrains.

Scania’s Presence in India

Scania entered the Indian market in 2007 and set up its manufacturing facility in Narasapura, near Bangalore, in 2011. The facility spans 37 acres and includes a regional production center measuring 125,794 square feet. The company also maintains a strong service and parts support network, including a warehouse facility in Nagpur.

Availability and Customization

The SUPER series is now open for orders with customization options available to suit specific business requirements and applications. While Scania has not revealed the pricing, the company is offering a comprehensive support package, including service solutions and financing options.

Global Legacy

Scania Commercial Vehicles AB, the parent company, operates in over 100 countries and employs around 50,000 people worldwide. With over 130 years of experience, Scania continues to manufacture trucks, buses, and engines for industrial, marine, and power generation applications.
