Key Highlights:

  • India’s first 7-ft cargo deck.

  • Highest-in-segment 750 kg payload.

  • New 700 DI and 600 DI diesel engines.

  • Better mileage and performance.

  • Strong alternative to 4W cargo vehicles.

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has expanded its last-mile transport lineup by launching two new diesel cargo three-wheelers, the Ape Xtra Bada 700 and the Ape Xtra 600. These new models are designed to offer higher payload, better performance, and a strong value proposition for commercial users. The company aims to compete directly with entry-level four-wheeler cargo vehicles in India.

India’s First 7-Foot Cargo Deck with Higher Payload

The Ape Xtra Bada 700 brings several segment-first features. It is India’s first three-wheeler to offer a 7-ft cargo deck, making it ideal for carrying bigger and bulkier loads. The vehicle also delivers the highest-in-segment payload capacity of 750 kg, making it a powerful option for businesses needing reliable and heavy-duty transport.

It comes equipped with a robust 700 DI diesel engine, a newly developed chassis and cabin, and a modern digital instrument cluster. To support stability and comfort, the vehicle includes 12-inch radial tyres, improved suspension geometry, and an optional rear sensor to assist during reversing.

Ape Xtra 600 Designed for Better Mileage and Urban Logistics

The second model, the Ape Xtra 600, is powered by an all-new 600 DI diesel engine. It has been developed to offer better mileage, improved gradeability, and stronger load-carrying performance. This model is mainly targeted at intra-city deliveries and semi-urban logistics, where fuel efficiency and reliable performance are essential.

Leadership Speaks: Focus on Innovation and Customer Productivity

Diego Graffi, Chairman & Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, highlighted the company’s innovation-driven approach. He said that the Ape Xtra Bada 700 is a landmark product that pushes boundaries with its engine capacity, deck size, and payload. According to him, it is designed to help customers increase productivity and earnings. He also added that the Ape Xtra 600 continues Piaggio’s focus on providing efficient and value-driven mobility solutions.

Amit Sagar, Executive Vice President, emphasized that the cargo mobility market is rapidly evolving, with rising demand for higher power, better comfort, and stronger performance. He stated that the Ape Xtra Bada 700 addresses these needs through a fresh platform with multiple industry-first features. He also mentioned that the vehicle offers a strong alternative to four-wheel cargo vehicles because of its better operating cost and total cost of ownership (TCO). The Ape Xtra 600, meanwhile, strengthens Piaggio’s long-standing diesel cargo portfolio.

Pricing and Availability

Both new models will be available at dealerships starting in November 2025.

  • Ape Xtra Bada 700 Price: ₹3.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra)
