Key Highlights

  • PepsiCo India launches EV Green Corridor on Kosi-Pataudi route for green logistics
  • Eight 32-foot electric container trucks to operate on the corridor in partnership with Kalyani Powertrain
  • Over 400 distributor vehicles converted to electric three and four-wheelers for last mile delivery
  • More than 80 CNG vehicles deployed in NCR to reduce urban logistics emissions
PepsiCo India has launched a dedicated EV Green Corridor on the Kosi-Pataudi route, aiming to reduce carbon emissions in its supply chain. The corridor, developed in partnership with Kalyani Powertrain Ltd., features electrification of the distributor fleet and deployment of CNG vehicles. This initiative reflects PepsiCo’s commitment to sustainable logistics and emission reduction.

EV Green Corridor Details

The Kosi-Pataudi route, connecting Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, will now support about 4.8 lakh electric kilometres annually. Eight 32-foot single-axle re-powered electric container trucks will operate on this corridor. These trucks have been developed in collaboration with Kalyani Powertrain Ltd., a division of Bharat Forge Ltd. The corridor serves as a scalable model for electric linehaul freight, supporting vehicle customisation, route optimisation, and charging infrastructure.

Emission Reduction Efforts

PepsiCo India has converted over 400 distributor-linked vehicles to electric three-wheelers and four-wheelers across various markets. This conversion directly reduces emissions at the last mile of delivery. In addition, the company has deployed more than 80 CNG vehicles in the National Capital Region through its logistics partners. These measures are part of PepsiCo’s broader plan to reduce the environmental impact of urban logistics.

Statements from Leadership

Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India and South Asia, stated that the launch of the EV Green Corridor, together with distributor fleet electrification and CNG deployment in NCR, demonstrates the company’s commitment to building a cleaner and more efficient supply chain. Pankaj Sonalkar, Managing Director of Kalyani Powertrain Ltd., highlighted the partnership's role in advancing sustainable freight mobility through the deployment of electric container trucks.

Future Prospects

The Kosi-Pataudi EV Green Corridor is designed to be scalable, allowing for future expansion and adaptation. The supporting ecosystem ensures vehicle customisation, route optimisation, and robust charging infrastructure. PepsiCo India aims to use this corridor as a model for further sustainable logistics initiatives, supporting the company’s long-term environmental goals.
