In a groundbreaking development for sustainable transportation in Mumbai, the consortium of Olectra Green Tech Limited (Olectra) and Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY) has secured a significant contract with Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking (BEST).
The consortium has been awarded a Letter of Award (LOA) for the supply, operation, and maintenance of 2,400 electric buses on a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) / OPEX model basis for 12 years. This historic agreement is valued at approximately Rs 4,000 crore for Olectra, marking a significant advancement towards eco-friendly mobility solutions in the region.
Key Highlights of the Contract
Under the terms of the contract, EVEY will assume responsibility for the supply, operation, and maintenance of the 2,400 e-buses, in collaboration with Olectra.
The electric buses will be procured from Olectra and delivered within 18 months adhering to strict execution timelines.
Olectra will oversee the maintenance of the electric buses throughout the 12-year contract, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Partnership and Letter of Award
The electric bus manufacturer revealed that a consortium comprising Olectra Greentech and Evey Trans (EVEY) has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) by BEST for the aforementioned project. Under this agreement, the consortium will be in charge of the procurement, operation, and maintenance of the electric buses for 12 years.
