This event signifies a significant step forward in the capital's transportation landscape.

This is the Transport Department's first introduction of electric buses as part of the cluster scheme. JBM Auto now has 500 electric buses running in New Delhi. The initiative aims to enhance sustainable mobility while reducing pollution levels in the city.

JBM set up a big charging system with 110 fast chargers to power 500 electric buses. It's a 30MW infrastructure. These chargers are operational from five strategically located bus depots in Rohini, Rajghat, and Burari, ensuring seamless operations and minimal downtime.

The charging infrastructure is built on the JBM ECOFUEL EV Charging Technology platform, which includes the most advanced Megawatt charging solution available. This first deployment in Delhi and globally underscores JBM’s commitment to supporting Delhi's transition towards green and sustainable solutions.

Features of ECOLIFE electric bus

One of the key highlights of the ECOLIFE electric bus is its zero-emission capability, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. JBM estimates that over a decade of operation, each ECOLIFE bus will contribute to preventing approximately 1000 equivalent tons of carbon dioxide emissions and save a substantial 420,000 litres of diesel fuel.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, these buses cater to modern commuter needs. Including fast-charging lithium-ion batteries ensures minimal downtime, enabling efficient operation throughout the day. Moreover, passengers can enjoy a range of amenities, including a Real-Time Passenger Information System (PIS), panic buttons for emergencies, an Automatic Bus Vehicle Location System, CCTV cameras, and public address systems.

The Real-Time Passenger Information System serves as a convenient tool for passengers, keeping them updated on bus locations and schedules. Meanwhile, robust safety features like CCTV cameras provide continuous surveillance, enhancing passenger security during transit.

Passengers also have the convenience of stop request buttons to signal upcoming stops, improving the overall journey experience. In addition to passenger-centric features, the ECOLIFE electric bus incorporates utility elements such as a Vehicle Health Monitoring System and a Fire Detection & Suppression System. These features not only ensure operational efficiency but also contribute to enhanced safety standards.

Furthermore, the ergonomically designed dashboard of the ECOLIFE bus prioritizes driver focus and safety, offering a comfortable and intuitive interface for seamless operation.

JBM's commitment to sustainability, coupled with its focus on passenger safety and comfort, underscores the company's dedication to shaping the future of urban transportation.
