The three-day festival will take place at the campus of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University and will feature more than 250 varieties of mangoes from India and abroad.
The event is being jointly organized by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, the Directorate of Horticulture and Field Forestry of the Chhattisgarh Government, and the Nature for Nature Society. The main objective of the festival is to promote mango cultivation, processing, marketing, and mango-based businesses while creating self-employment opportunities for farmers and youth.
Visitors at the festival will get a chance to explore rare and popular mango varieties at one place. Along with mangoes, the exhibition will also include mango products and mango saplings for sale. The exhibition will remain open for the general public till 9 PM on all three days.
According to the organizers, entry and registration for the event have been kept completely free so that more people can participate and benefit from the festival.

Participants entering the mango competition will need to bring at least 5 to 10 mangoes of each variety.
Apart from the mango exhibition, mango dish and mango decoration competitions will also be major attractions during the festival. School and college students, women, and the general public can participate in these activities.
For the mango dishes competition, participants must register with a minimum of 250 grams of the prepared product. Organizers believe these competitions will help people understand the different uses of mangoes and the business opportunities linked with mango-based products.
A special technical discussion and guidance session for mango farmers and interested individuals will be held on the second day, May 30, from 12 noon to 4 PM.
During the session, experts will provide information on:
Improved mango varieties
Modern horticulture techniques
Mango processing and packaging
Marketing strategies
Government schemes related to horticulture
Experts will also explain how mango farming can become an environmentally sustainable and profitable business. Organizers expect the session to encourage youth towards horticulture and agriculture-based entrepreneurship.
On the final day, May 31, successful mango farmers and entrepreneurs will share their experiences from 12 noon to 4 PM. They will discuss how they turned mango cultivation into a profitable business through modern technology and better farm management practices.
The festival will conclude with a prize distribution and felicitation ceremony where winners of different competitions will be honored.
According to the organizers, the National Mango Festival has been successfully organized by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University for the past two years and has received a positive response. This year too, a large number of farmers, students, entrepreneurs, and mango enthusiasts are expected to attend the event.
