19 Electric buses made by PMI Elcto Mobility Solutions have covered an estimated 10.50 lakh km distance, significantly impacting the environment in the region. As per officials, a total of 25.20 lakh kg CO2 emissions have been curbed in the one year of their operations.

Electric buses in Ladakh covered over 1 lakh km distance since the start of their services a year ago. A total of 19 electric buses made by PMI Electro Mobility Solutions have been operational in Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil regions servicing an average of 1500 passengers daily.
These buses are operating on local routes throughout the region and have covered an estimated 10,50,000 km distance resulting in a reduction of a large amount of emissions.
These buses are designed to provide the best travel experience for the passengers and come equipped with factory fitted cameras to enhance the security for people. Additionally, these buses feature the Intelligent Transportation Management System (ITMS) software for optimal fleet management.
Environmental Impact of Electric Buses in Ladakh
These 19 electric buses have made a significant impact on Ladakh’s delicate ecosystem with zero tailpipe emissions, no engine noise and no vibrations, thereby reducing air and noise pollution in the region.
The officials said that these electric buses have curbed carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 25,20,000 kg since the commencement of their services and further positive impact on Ladakh’s environment is expected to persist over the next 15 years.

Official Response to the E-buses and their Impact
The Deputy Director of District Motor Garages in District Leh, UT of Ladakh - Dr Zulfiqar Ali said, “Given Ladakh’s extreme temperatures, besides running smoothly, PMI Electro’s eBuses feature a state-of-the-art heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system to maintain a stable internal temperature.”
He said that e-buses had a transformative impact on public transportation in the region and looks forward to increasing the e-bus fleet in future.
The CEO of PMI Electro Mobility Solutions - Aanchal Jain said, “As India aims to reach its net zero goals, ecologically sensitive geographics like Ladakh stands as an example of taking appropriate measures to safeguard nature and help it regain its pristine beauty.”
He said that climate change is affecting countries worldwide and India is rapidly taking the necessary steps to reduce its impact.
“We are happy to contribute to this journey for Ladakh through our electric buses, which stand as a testament to our commitment to supporting the larger goal,” he added.
