Convergence Energy Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), launched the tender as part of phase one of the National Electric Bus Programme (NEBP).
EKA Mobility, a Pinnacle Industries company, has announced the acquisition of 57 electric buses from the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC).
EKA Mobility is a subsidiary automotive company of Pinnacle Industries Ltd, founded in 1996. PIL is a leading motor vehicle manufacturing company located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The company has a presence in the interior manufacturing industry. It develops seating as well as interior products for commercial vehicles.
Every year, about 1,33,15,200 passengers will get benefit from electric buses. EKA's order book has risen dramatically. As a result of this order, more than 500 electric buses and 5,000 electric light commercial vehicle orders are in the works.
The demo product was recently successfully inspected by MBMC's team and is a testament to the fact that design and manufacturing in India are now a reality.
The company is excited to begin deliveries in the coming months, which will strengthen the bond of EKA with Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. As a result, it will contribute to Mumbai's environmentally friendly mass transportation.
According to EKA, the 57 e-buses bought by the MBMC would be manufactured at the plant. To offer a pleasant travel experience, the buses will include wide interiors, comfortable seating, air conditioning, and enhanced passenger amenities. The e-buses will also be outfitted with advanced charging infrastructure to enable efficient operations and reduce downtime.

In addition, the company has created a 9-metre city bus on a hydrogen fuel cell platform that is specifically designed and optimized for Indian road transportation needs. In the future, the firm intends to launch a number of electric and hydrogen fuel-cell bus variations, as well as an e-LCV range.
The news comes months after the firm revealed in February that it had received a letter of allotment (LoA) for the purchase, operation, and maintenance of 310 electric buses on a gross contracting basis for a recently ended tender of 6465 electric buses. Convergence Energy Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), launched the tender as part of phase one of the National Electric Bus Programme (NEBP).
When compared to diesel buses, the deployment of these vehicles is estimated to save a total of 33,704 metric tonnes of CO2, which is equivalent to growing 102,134 trees.
