Tata Motors remained at the top of the rankings with the largest number of sales of 26,033 units.
In June 2023, the Federation Of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) issued sales data. The sales of all popular Commercial Vehicle manufacturers in India are included in this report. It shows a 0.44% increase in Y-O-Y truck sales in India. In June 2023, the Commercial Vehicle sold 73,212 units, up from 72,894 in June 2022.
Tata Motors remained at the top of the rankings, with the largest number of sales of 26,033 units, while Daimler India experienced the highest growth of 41.05% in FADA June 2023 sales.
Tata Motors is India's largest CV maker. In June 2023, the brand sold 26,033 units, compared to 29,258 units in the same month last year. The brand sales declined by 11.02%.
Mahindra & Mahindra comes at second position in the FADA CV sales report. In June 2023, the brand sold 16,873 units, compared to 16,740 in June 2022. As a result, Mahindra & Mahindra sales increased by 0.79%.
Ashok Leyland sold 11,907 commercial vehicles in June 2023, compared to 11,063 units in June 2012. As a result, Ashok Leyland's sales increased by 7.63%.
VECV, a joint venture of Volvo Trucks India and Eicher Trucks & Bus, sold 5,886 CVs In June 2023, up from 4,834 in the same month the previous year. As a result, the brand’s sales increased by 21.76% in June 2023.
Maruti Suzuki excelled in commercial vehicle sales. This brand sold 3,446 units in June 2023, a 20.49% increase from the previous year's sales of 2,860 units.
BharatBenz Trucks, a subsidiary of Daimler, sold 1,560 units in June 2023, compared to 1,106 units in June 2022. The brand’s sales increased by 41.05%, Among all brands, BharatBenz has the biggest sales growth.
Force Motors Limited sold 1,435 Commercial Vehicles in the current year, as compared to 1,147 units sold in June 2022. As a result, the brand's sales increased by 25.11%.
SML Isuzu also saw a 29.70% increase in Y-O-Y sales in June 2023. In June 2022, the brand sold 973 units, which grew to 1,262 units in June 2023.
In addition, in FADA's June 2023 sales, all other brands in the CV segment sold 4,810 units.

Three-wheeler Sales were up 75.48% year on year to 86,511 units (June 2023: 49,299 units), making this the biggest June ever. The surge in demand for electric models is propelling the segment forward; combined passenger and goods EV sales of 41,919 units are up 60.51% from June 2022's 26,115 units.
Surprisingly, demand for IC engine models appears to be returning, with 36,180 units sold and a 121% year-on-year increase.
