Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has become the first manufacturing facility in India to receive the prestigious Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum certification under the updated Version 2 standards. This recognition was awarded to DICV’s Oragadam plant, making it the only one among 31 factories evaluated to earn this honor for its sustainable industrial practices.

Sustainable Manufacturing at DICV’s Oragadam Plant

The IGBC Platinum certification is a global standard for sustainable building practices. It is aligned with the World Green Building Council’s framework and aims to promote sustainability in industrial operations.

DICV’s Oragadam facility has implemented several measures to improve energy efficiency, conserve water, utilize renewable energy, manage waste, and enhance biodiversity. These initiatives set a new benchmark for sustainable manufacturing in India.
