Key Highlights:

  • DICV launched new BharatBenz heavy-duty trucks in India.
  • The trucks have a 6.7-litre diesel engine with 250HP or 306HP options.
  • They support various payloads, including bitumen and POL.
  • Available in different configurations for better efficiency and comfort.
  • The trucks come with a 10 lakh km AMC and meet EU safety norms.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has introduced a new range of heavy-duty Rigid trucks under the BharatBenz brand in India. These trucks are designed for superior reliability.

These new trucks are powered by the all-new BharatBenz BSVI-Stage2 6.7-litre diesel engine and will offer new payload applications such as bitumen, bulker, Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL) in addition to existing payload applications.

Engine and Performance

The new BharatBenz Rigids come with two engine configurations, offering higher horsepower and torque. Customers can choose between a 250HP engine with 950Nm of torque or a 306HP engine with 1200Nm of torque, depending on their specific needs.

These configurations are designed to handle substantial payloads efficiently, providing smoother shifts and high torque delivery at lower speeds.

Versatile Applications

The new range is engineered to cater to a variety of payload applications. The models available include 2826R (6x2), 3526R (8x2), 3832R (8x2), 4232R (10x2), and 4832R (10x2), offering customers a wide range of configurations to choose from.

Safety and Comfort Features

The new BharatBenz Rigids set the standard for truck safety, meeting the strict EU ECE R29-02 cabin safety regulations. Aerodynamically constructed AC cabins help to maintain vehicle momentum, while luxurious sleeper berths facilitate long-distance journeys.

Advanced Driver State Monitoring systems, which use AI and computer vision, actively prevent driver distraction and fatigue. Improvements include a more powerful engine brake system that improves braking effectiveness by 28%, as well as reverse cameras for safer maneuverability.

Maintenance and Support

DICV is offering an attractive 10 lakh km Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) with these trucks. This offer highlights the company’s confidence in the durability of their products and their commitment to reducing the total cost of ownership for customers.

Additionally, DICV has expanded its network to over 360 sales and service outlets across India and established partnerships with more than 400 suppliers.

Sreeram Venkateswaran, President & Chief Business Officer of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, stated, "These engines are specifically built to carry large weights efficiently, allowing for smoother shifts and maximum torque delivery at lower speeds. Available in a variety of configurations, they provide not only increased acceleration but also class-leading peak and flat torque, resulting in maximum operational efficiency and improved driver comfort, decreasing tiredness during long hauls."
