The newly launched trains will run on two important routes - Varanasi to Pune (Hadapsar) and Ayodhya to Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus). With this, passengers can now travel between these states without changing trains.

Boost to Pilgrimage and Direct Travel

This initiative is especially important for religious tourism. Cities like Varanasi and Ayodhya are among the most visited pilgrimage destinations in India.

The Varanasi-Pune train will help devotees travel easily to the famous Kashi Vishwanath Dham, while the Ayodhya-Mumbai train will improve access to the Shri Ram Mandir.

Officials said the new services will benefit daily passengers, migrant workers, and pilgrims by providing direct connectivity and removing the need for multiple train changes.

The Varanasi-Hadapsar (Pune) Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Banaras in the evening and reach Hadapsar the next night. The total travel time is around 30 hours. The train will stop at 18 stations, including Gyanpur Road, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, and Govindpuri. It will also pass through important locations in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, with access points to Shirdi such as Manmad and Kopargaon.

The Ayodhya-Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) Amrit Bharat Express will also start its journey in the evening and reach Mumbai the next evening, taking approximately 28 hours. It will halt at 12 key stations, including Ayodhya Cantt, Sultanpur, M B D Pratapgarh, Prayagraj Junction, Manikpur Junction, Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi Junction, Bhusaval Junction, Jalgaon Junction, Nashik Road, Kalyan Junction, Thane, and finally Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

Fares and Passenger Benefits

According to the railway ministry, Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed to offer affordable travel with better comfort for common passengers. The fare is expected to be around 15-17% higher than regular Mail and Express trains, making it a cost-effective option compared to premium services.

Officials also confirmed that regular schedules for both trains will be announced soon after the inaugural runs.

A Step Towards Better Rail Connectivity

The launch of these trains is seen as a major move to strengthen railway connectivity between North and West India. It not only supports tourism and religious travel but also makes long-distance journeys smoother and more accessible for millions of passengers.
