  • Ashok Leyland partners with Rosmerta Recycling for commercial vehicle scrappage.

  • Customers will get access to authorised vehicle scrapping facilities across India.

  • The partnership offers end-to-end support, including deregistration and documentation.

  • Eligible customers can receive scrap value, OEM discounts, and government-linked benefits.

  • Initiative supports cleaner mobility and the Government's vehicle modernisation plans.

Ashok Leyland has partnered with Rosmerta Recycling to create an organised scrappage ecosystem for end-of-life commercial vehicles in India. The partnership aims to make vehicle scrapping easier, more transparent, and environmentally responsible by connecting commercial vehicle owners with authorised vehicle recycling facilities across the country.

Through this collaboration, Ashok Leyland will use its extensive nationwide dealer network to help customers access Rosmerta Recycling's Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs). This will allow commercial vehicle owners to complete the entire scrappage process through authorised centres.

End-to-End Scrappage Support for Customers

The partnership will provide a complete vehicle scrappage solution, making the process simple and hassle-free for customers. Apart from scrapping the vehicle, customers will also receive assistance with vehicle deregistration and all required statutory documentation.

Rosmerta Recycling operates authorised scrapping facilities across India that dismantle end-of-life vehicles while following environmental and government regulations. These facilities are designed to recover recyclable materials safely and promote responsible recycling practices.

Attractive Benefits for Vehicle Owners

Commercial vehicle owners who choose to scrap their old vehicles through this programme will be eligible for several benefits. These include:

  • Competitive scrap value for old vehicles.

  • OEM-linked discounts on the purchase of new Ashok Leyland commercial vehicles.

  • Waiver of road tax and registration fees wherever applicable under government policies.

  • Support for compliant vehicle deregistration and documentation.

These benefits are expected to encourage more fleet operators and vehicle owners to replace ageing commercial vehicles with newer, cleaner models.

Supporting Government's Vehicle Replacement Policy

The partnership supports the Government of India's Voluntary Vehicle Modernisation Program, which encourages owners to replace older vehicles with modern, low-emission alternatives. It also complements the recently launched Naya Safar Scheme, which aims to reduce transport-related emissions in the Delhi-NCR region.

As vehicle replacement policies continue to expand, the collaboration is expected to strengthen the organised commercial vehicle scrappage ecosystem and promote sustainable recycling across India.

Rosmerta Group on the Partnership

Commenting on the collaboration, Kartick Nagpal, President, Rosmerta Group, said the partnership comes at an important time as the Government's recently approved commercial vehicle replacement initiatives are expected to accelerate organised vehicle scrappage across the country.

He added that the mandatory scrappage of BS-III and older commercial vehicles through authorised Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs), covering an estimated 2.07 lakh vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region, is a major step towards cleaner mobility, lower emissions, and the development of a stronger circular economy.
