Ashok Leyland, a prominent Indian company under the Hinduja Group, has collaborated with Nagaland Rural Bank to offer vehicle financing. The agreement was announced on April 2, 2025. This partnership will enable customers to purchase Ashok Leyland commercial vehicles with flexible monthly payment plans. The agreement was signed by C. Neelakantan, Head of Treasury and Direct Taxation at Ashok Leyland, and Velayutham Sadhasivam, Chairman of Nagaland Rural Bank
Ashok Leyland provides a range of trucks and buses for various commercial transport needs, from light vehicles to long-haul trucks. The company also creates vehicles using alternative fuels to minimize pollution and promote cleaner transportation in India.
Nagaland Rural Bank serves as a regional bank that offers financial services to the residents of Nagaland, concentrating on banking and credit solutions for individuals, small enterprises, and the agricultural sector.

Balaji K M, CFO of Ashok Leyland, mentioned that the partnership would provide customers with convenient financing alternatives and tailored repayment plans.
Velayutham Sadhasivam stated that this partnership would enable Nagaland Rural Bank to connect with more customers and offer customized financing options to bolster the growth of the commercial vehicle sector in the state.
Sanjeev Kumar, President of MHCV at Ashok Leyland, noted that this collaboration would assist the company in broadening its reach and enhancing its support for customers.

This partnership will improve both Ashok Leyland and Nagaland Rural Bank's services and help in expansion in the Northeast, where financing options for commercial vehicle buyers have traditionally been limited. This initiative will facilitate access to affordable financing for commercial vehicles for residents of Nagaland. It will enable both companies to connect with a larger customer base in the region, where such options have been scarce. This collaboration is expected to create more growth opportunities in the local market.
