BOMAG has introduced the BW 177 BVO-5 PL single drum roller, a high-performance machine designed to enhance compaction efficiency on small to medium-sized construction projects. This advanced roller features cutting-edge technology to handle various terrains and soil types, making it an essential tool for contractors seeking productivity and cost savings.

Equipped with a dual pump system and a self-locking differential, the BW 177 BVO-5 PL can tackle slopes with up to 60% gradeability in both forward and reverse directions. This powerful capability makes it an excellent choice for challenging terrain, ensuring consistent compaction even on steep surfaces.
One of the key features of the BW 177 BVO-5 PL is its ability to switch between three compaction modes:
Additionally, an optional padfoot segment kit can be added to improve compaction performance on silt and clay materials.
The BW 177 BVO-5 PL roller is simple to operate. It starts with a simple rotary dial that lets operators shift between compaction modes on the fly. The roomy cab creates comfort for an individual working long shifts and visibility at the job site is very good for safety.
The roller can achieve an output of up to 968 cubic yards per hour (740 cubic meters per hour) of processing volume with an extremely wide drum of 66.5 in (170 mm), providing increased productivity and efficiency on the more demanding construction site.
This helps reduce fuel consumption and lower operating costs, with BOMAG’s ECOMODE technology on the roller optimizing engine RPM for increased efficiency, reducing fuel consumption by potentially up to 30%. To ensure more fuel economy, the engine then cuts off automatically within the first 5 to 15 minutes of idling with the help of the ECOSTOP feature, which also ensures a longer life of the engine.
A single lever controls the forward and reverse travel directions, allowing for smooth speed adjustments up to 10 mph (16 km/h). This intuitive control system ensures safe and efficient operation, particularly in tight spaces and uneven conditions.
The BW 177 BVO-5 PL roller incorporates smart compaction technologies to enhance performance:
The BW 177 BVO-5 PL is designed with BOMAG's Easy Service concept for convenience maintenance. Having no lubrication points and a maintenance-free oscillating/articulating joint, this machine is simple to maintain. Key components such as the dipstick, filters, and fluid filling points are easily reached from ground level for quick checks on routine maintenance.
