1500 solar pumps to be installed in Jhunjhunu under PM Kusum Yojana 2025.

The Central Government is running the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana (PM-KUSUM) to reduce farmers dependence on diesel and electricity for irrigation. Under this scheme, solar energy pumps are being provided on subsidy, ensuring farmers get 24-hour irrigation facilities at low cost while also protecting the environment.
For 2025-26, the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan has been given the target of installing 1,500 solar pump plants. So far, 225 farmers have already benefited from the scheme. District Horticulture Deputy Director Dr. Vijaypal Kaswaconfirmed that all applications are being processed quickly and currently, no applications are pending.
Under the PM Kusum Yojana, farmers are getting up to 60% subsidy on solar pumps. In addition, SC/ST farmers will receive an extra subsidy of ₹45,000. Farmers will be provided 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP solar pumps under this scheme.
3 HP Solar Pump → ₹97,750 – ₹1,01,124
5 HP Solar Pump → ₹1,27,385 – ₹1,29,221
7.5 HP Solar Pump → ₹1,78,893 – ₹1,81,437
(Note: Prices may vary depending on pump category, capacity, and firm selection.)
To apply under the PM Kusum Yojana, farmers must meet the following conditions:
Must have at least 0.4 hectares of agricultural land
Pump capacity will be decided after a technical survey
Farmers applying for solar pump subsidy will need:
Latest Jamabandi and land map (not older than 6 months)
Self-declaration form regarding water source and diesel pump use
Affidavit for not having an electricity connection
Selection of an approved firm on the portal
The application process is completely online through the Raj Kisan Sathi Portalhttps://rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in. Farmers can also apply through the nearest e-Mitra center.
Dr. Vijaypal Kaswa has appealed to farmers of Jhunjhunu district to take full advantage of this scheme. By switching to solar pumps, farmers can reduce irrigation costs, save diesel, and contribute to environmental protection.
