The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a flagship scheme of the central government that provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. So far, 20 installments have been released to millions of farmers across India. Farmers are now eagerly waiting for the 21st installment, expected to arrive soon.
The 20th installment was credited on August 2, 2025, while the 19th installment was released on February 24, 2025. Normally, the next installment should follow in November, but this time, the government is carrying out a nationwide verification drive before releasing payments.
The main reason for the delay is to ensure that only eligible farmers—those with correct Aadhaar, bank, and land records—continue to receive benefits.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a large number of ineligible individuals were found taking benefits under PM-KISAN.
In several cases, both husband and wife were receiving separate benefits, violating scheme rules.
So far, around 2.9 million suspicious beneficiaries have been identified.
Verification is ongoing at both the state and district levels.
If any farmer’s documents or bank details are found incorrect, their name will be removed from the scheme.
Earlier in 2022, a similar drive had removed 17.2 million ineligible beneficiaries, saving crores of rupees for the government.
This year’s verification campaign focuses on making the PM-KISAN database clean and transparent. Officials are cross-checking:
Aadhaar numbers
Land ownership records
Bank account details
The goal is to ensure that the benefits reach only genuine farmers. The Ministry stated that this step will improve transparency, accountability, and efficient use of public funds.
The government has not announced an official release date for the 21st installment yet. However, it is expected in the first half of November 2025.
Recently, the installment was released early in Jammu and Kashmir to help farmers affected by floods and landslides, raising hopes that other states may also receive payments soon.
If your Aadhaar number, bank account, or land record contains any errors, your installment could be withheld.
The government has advised all registered farmers to verify their details immediately on the official PM-KISAN website to avoid issues.
Follow these easy steps to check your PM-KISAN status:
Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in
Go to the “Farmers Corner” section.
Click on “Beneficiary List.”
Select your State, District, Sub-District, Block, and Village.
Click “Get Report.” You’ll see whether your name is on the list.
If you applied online or via the CSC Center, go to “Self Registered Farmer / CSC Farmers Status” and enter your Aadhaar number to check the update.
This large-scale verification drive will make the scheme more transparent and effective. Major benefits include:
Removal of ineligible beneficiaries
Ensuring proper use of government funds
Timely payment to eligible farmers
The government wants to ensure that only those who truly qualify under the scheme continue to receive its benefits. Farmers who have submitted the correct details need not worry.
Over 11 crore farmers have benefited from PM-KISAN so far. To keep enjoying these benefits without interruption:
Update your Aadhaar, bank, and land records.
Check your beneficiary status regularly.
Correct any discrepancies immediately through the official portal or the nearby CSC center.
The ongoing verification campaign is not just about removing fake entries—it is also meant to protect the rights of genuine farmers and ensure that every deserving farmer receives the ₹6,000 support on time.
In short: The PM-KISAN verification campaign will ensure transparency, stop misuse, and guarantee that the scheme benefits reach the right hands. Farmers with accurate details and valid records will continue to receive payments without delay.
