The wait for the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana may soon be over. Reports suggest that the central government could release the next installment in the first week of November, just before the Bihar Assembly elections. Let’s understand all the important details, including the expected release date, eligibility, and state-wise updates.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme that provides direct financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, every four months.
So far, 20 installments have been successfully transferred to farmers accounts. Now, crores of farmers are waiting for the 21st installment.
According to media reports, the 21st installment of PM Kisan Yojana may be released before November 6, as the Bihar elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11. It is believed that the BJP-led central government may release the installment before the polls to benefit farmers ahead of voting.
If this happens, over 10 crore farmers across India will receive the 21st installment amount directly into their bank accounts. However, there has been no official confirmation from the government yet, and the information remains speculative.
Some states have already received the 21st installment in advance. The central government has credited the payment to farmers in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh earlier this year.
On October 7, 2025, more than 8.5 lakh farmers in Jammu and Kashmir received ₹171 crore as the 21st installment.
Farmers in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh received the installment on September 26, 2025.
Therefore, the upcoming release in November will primarily benefit farmers in other states, including Bihar.
The Union Agriculture Minister has advised all states to complete Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC verification as soon as possible to avoid payment delays.
He also mentioned that several farmers, especially in border regions, face challenges in receiving payments due to a lack of valid land documents. State governments have been asked to verify such farmers and submit their details to the centre, so they too can be included under PM-KISAN benefits.
The government releases the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi installments three times a year, every four months:
First Installment: Between April and July
Second Installment: Between August and November
Third Installment: Between December and March
Through this schedule, eligible farmers receive a total of ₹6,000 per year directly into their bank accounts.
Many state governments also run their own farmer welfare schemes alongside PM-KISAN, allowing farmers to enjoy double benefits.
Madhya Pradesh: Under the Kisan Kalyan Yojana, farmers receive ₹2,000 thrice a year, similar to PM-KISAN, totaling ₹10,000 annually.
Rajasthan: Under the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers get ₹1,000 three times a year, totaling ₹3,000, in addition to PM-KISAN benefits, making it ₹9,000 annually.
A common question among farmers is whether the 21st installment can be released while the model code of conduct is in effect during the Bihar Assembly elections.
Yes, it can. As per election guidelines, new schemes cannot be announced during this period, but installments of existing schemes can be distributed. Therefore, the PM Kisan Yojana payment can continue as usual, provided all technical formalities between the state and central governments are completed in time.
The 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is expected to bring relief to millions of farmers across India, possibly arriving before November 6. Although there is no official release date yet, all indications suggest that the government plans to release it ahead of the Bihar elections. Farmers are advised to complete e-KYC and Aadhaar verification immediately to ensure they don’t miss out on the payment.
