PM-Kisan beneficiaries can get a Rs 3000 monthly pension.
Pension is available after 60 years of age.
Farmers aged 18-40 years are eligible to apply.
Govt matches the monthly contribution of Rs 55–200.
20th PM-Kisan installment expected by early July.
The Central Government has brought double good news for the farmers associated with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. Along with the upcoming 20th installment of Rs 2000 under PM-Kisan, eligible farmers can also start receiving a monthly pension of Rs 3000 under the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY). Many farmers are still unaware that, along with annual assistance of Rs 6000, they are also eligible for a government-backed pension plan for old age.

PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) is a social security pension scheme launched in 2019. It aims to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers after they turn 60 years old. The government provides a guaranteed monthly pension of Rs 3000, helping farmers live with dignity in their old age.
Not all farmers are eligible. The government has set some clear conditions:
Age Limit: Between 18 to 40 years.
Land Holding: Must have up to 2 hectares of cultivable land.
PM-Kisan Link: Farmers already registered under PM-Kisan are automatically eligible.
The following categories cannot apply for this pension scheme:
Farmers who are already part of EPF, ESIC, or NPS.
Income taxpayers.
Government employees or those in constitutional posts.
Institutional landowners.
Professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, or CAs.
Farmers have to make a monthly contribution based on their age at the time of joining. The best part? The government contributes the same amount every month.
Age (Years) | Farmer's Contribution (Rs/month) | Govt. Contribution (Rs/month) | Total Premium |
18 | 55 | 55 | 110 |
25 | 80 | 80 | 160 |
30 | 105 | 105 | 210 |
35 | 150 | 150 | 300 |
40 | 200 | 200 | 400 |
Note: The amount is automatically deducted from your PM-Kisan installment if enrolled.
To apply for the scheme, follow these simple steps:
Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
Carry your Aadhaar card, bank account details, and mobile number.
The CSC operator will fill out your application form.
Select your preferred contribution plan – monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly.
Allow auto-debit from your bank account.
On successful enrollment, you’ll receive a unique pension number.
Your premium will be auto-debited every month, usually on the 1st, 11th, or 21st.
If you are already getting benefits under PM-Kisan, you don’t need to pay the premium separately. The premium amount is deducted directly from the PM-Kisan installments, making it easier and hassle-free for small farmers.
Till now, farmers have received 19 installments of Rs 2000 each under the PM-Kisan Yojana. The last installment was credited in February 2025, and since the scheme releases payments every four months, the next installment is expected anytime now.
Though no official date has been confirmed, reports suggest that the 20th installment could be credited this week or by early July. Final preparations are already underway for releasing the funds.
