₹23,882 crore allocated in MP Budget 2026-27.
₹1,500 monthly assistance for 1.25 crore women.
33 installments released so far.
₹38,000-₹42,000 received per beneficiary on average.
Direct bank transfer ensures transparency and timely payments.
The Madhya Pradesh Budget 2026-27 has given top priority to the Ladli Behna Yojana by allocating ₹23,882 crore for the upcoming financial year. This large provision highlights the state government’s strong commitment to women’s economic empowerment and social security.
The scheme has been described as one of the biggest and most effective women's welfare initiatives in the state.
A total budget of ₹23,882 crore has been set aside to ensure that the scheme continues without any disruption in payments. The government has made it clear that sufficient funds have been arranged so that installments reach beneficiaries on time.
This allocation forms a significant part of the state’s social sector spending. Experts believe that this strong financial backing will help maintain the wide reach and impact of the scheme in both rural and urban areas of Madhya Pradesh.
At present, nearly 12.5 million (1.25 crore) women are registered under the Ladli Behna Yojana. The large number of beneficiaries shows the widespread acceptance and popularity of the scheme.
Through regular monthly support, the scheme is helping women manage:
Household expenses
Children’s education
Healthcare needs
Daily essential requirements
The government says that the scheme is not only offering financial support but also boosting women’s confidence and decision-making power within families.
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, eligible women receive financial assistance every month directly in their bank accounts.
Initially, beneficiaries received ₹1,000 per month.
The amount was later increased to ₹1,250.
It has now been raised to ₹1,500 per month.
The latest increase of ₹250 provides additional relief, especially at a time when inflation and daily living costs are rising. The higher amount directly strengthens household budgets and improves financial stability for families.
There are also hopes that the installment amount may increase further in the future.
So far, 33 installments have been released under the scheme. On average, each beneficiary woman has received between ₹38,000 and ₹42,000, depending on the installments credited to her account.
Thousands of crores of rupees have already been transferred directly into the bank accounts of around 1.25 crore women through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This makes it one of the largest DBT-based women's welfare schemes in the state.
The monthly assistance is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. This direct transfer system:
Ensures transparency
Reduces leakages
Strengthens digital payment systems
Guarantees that benefits reach eligible women
By using DBT, the scheme has built a strong foundation for secure and transparent financial support.
According to the government, the main objective of the Ladli Behna Yojana is to make women self-reliant. The regular monthly assistance helps women become financially independent and strengthens their role in household decision-making.
The scheme has become a hallmark social security initiative in Madhya Pradesh due to its large beneficiary base and timely payments.
The ₹23,882 crore allocation in the MP Budget 2026-27 ensures that the monthly assistance of ₹1,500 continues smoothly for 12.5 million women. The priority given to the scheme clearly reflects the government’s continued focus on women's empowerment.
With regular payments, transparent transfers, and strong financial backing, the Ladli Behna Yojana is expected to maintain its impact and possibly expand further in the coming financial year.

The Ladli Behna Yojana continues to remain a strong pillar of women's empowerment in Madhya Pradesh. With a massive ₹23,882 crore allocation in the 2026–27 budget, the government has ensured uninterrupted ₹1,500 monthly assistance to 1.25 crore women. Regular DBT transfers, increased installment amounts, and timely payments reflect the state’s long-term commitment to financial security, self-reliance, and stronger decision-making power for women across rural and urban areas.
