The long wait for crores of Indian farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana is finally over. The 20th installment of the scheme will be officially released on 2 August 2025, directly from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, as announced by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the official event to release the installment amount to the farmers bank accounts.
This news brings great relief to farmers across India, especially those eagerly awaiting the installment after the 19th payment was made on 24 February 2025.

Under this 20th installment, ₹2,000 will be directly credited to the bank accounts of all eligible farmers. According to the ministry, over 10 crore farmer families will benefit from this payment. During the 19th installment, approximately ₹22,000 crore was transferred to around 9.80 crore farmers.
The number of beneficiaries has increased due to the United Agriculture Sankalp Abhiyan, which has led to a surge in new registrations.
Adding to the excitement, Agriculture INDIA officially posted on the social media platform ‘X’:
“No more waiting! On August 2, the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi will reach your account directly. As soon as the message tone rings, understand that the amount of Kisan Samman has arrived.”
This confirms that the 20th installment will be paid without delay, directly from the event in Varanasi.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, launched in 2019, is a major initiative by the Central Government to support small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, transferred in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months, directly to their bank accounts.
So far, the government has transferred over ₹3.69 lakh crore through 19 installments since the scheme began, ensuring financial stability for farmers to buy seeds, fertilizers, and equipment.
To receive the next installment under PM-KISAN, farmers must fulfill several key conditions:
Aadhaar Card and Bank Account Linkage is mandatory.
DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) must be enabled in the bank account.
Land verification should be completed.
e-KYC of Aadhaar and bank account must be updated.
If any of these steps are pending, the installment will not be credited to the beneficiary’s account.
Farmers who haven’t completed e-KYC and land verification processes may miss out on the 20th installment. The government has made e-KYC mandatory, and unverified land records will lead to payment delays or denial.
If your bank account is not linked with Aadhaar, or if your land records are not updated on the PM Kisan portal, your name might not be included in the final list. Ensure that “Land Seeding” shows “Yes” on your status.
Farmers can complete e-KYC and land seeding by visiting the nearest CSC/Vasudha/Sahaj Center, or through the official online portal.
