Promoting Modern and Profitable Farming

The government regularly organizes agricultural exhibitions and fairs to help farmers learn about new technologies and innovative practices. Last month, a successful agricultural fair was held in Hisar, Haryana, and continuing that effort, Kisan Mela 2025 will bring together thousands of farmers, experts, and agri-industries under one roof in different states this October.

Uttar Pradesh: All India Farmers’ Fair in Modipuram, Meerut (October 14–16)

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology will organize the All India Farmers’ Fair and Agricultural Industry Exhibition in Modipuram, Meerut from October 14 to 16.

According to Director of Extension and Fair Incharge PK Singh, this year’s theme is “Nutritious Grains and Prosperous Farmers.”

The fair will showcase:

  • Advanced agricultural technologies

  • Improved seeds and modern equipment

  • Animal exhibitions and dairy production

  • Horticulture and vegetable displays

  • Fruit exhibitions and live demonstrations

To keep the fair lively and entertaining, performances by folk singers and magicians will also be organized for the visiting farmers.

Uttarakhand: 118th All India Farmers’ Fair in Pantnagar (October 10–13)

The 118th All India Farmers’ Fair will be held at Pantnagar Agricultural University, Rudrapur, from October 10 to 13. Farmers from different states of India and even Nepal will participate in this mega event.

The fair will have over 350 stalls featuring:

  • Improved seeds of wheat, barley, gram, and peas

  • Modern agricultural tools and machinery

  • Fruit, flower, and vegetable plant exhibitions

According to Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Chauhan, seminars and field visits will also be organized to teach scientific farming methods.

The fair will be inaugurated by Retired Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, Governor of Uttarakhand.

Madhya Pradesh: State-Level Agriculture Fair in Sehore (October 12–14)

The Madhya Pradesh government will organize a State-Level Agricultural Fair in Sehore from October 12 to 14.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the fair will bring together farmers, industrialists, and experts from across the country.

The event’s main focus will be on connecting farmers with the latest agricultural innovations, dairy development programs, and modern equipment.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s efforts to make Madhya Pradesh a leader in agriculture and dairy production.

Encouraging Farmers Participation

Organizers of all three fairs have appealed to farmers to participate in large numbers. These events are great opportunities for farmers to:

  • Learn about new agricultural technologies

  • Discover high-yield seed varieties

  • Explore marketing and crop-selling techniques

  • Adopt modern and sustainable farming practices

Farmers are also requested to keep the fairs clean and polythene-free for a greener environment.
