Scheme fully digital by February 2026.
29,394 applications approved till Dec 2025.
Financial assistance up to ₹5 lakh.
Direct transfer to bank accounts.
Online application tracking for farmers.
The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a major step to make farmer welfare schemes simpler, faster, and more transparent. Under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme, farmers and their families will soon be able to apply for compensation online from home, and the approved amount will be transferred directly into their bank accounts. So far, 29,394 applications have already been approved under this scheme across the state.
The state government is working quickly to completely digitise the scheme, with a deadline set for February 2026. Once this process is completed, farmers will no longer need to visit the tehsil or district offices after an accident. All steps, from the payment application, will be handled online.
In a recent high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary SP Goyal, officials from the Revenue Council confirmed that the digitisation work is in its final stage. After going fully online, the scheme will become more efficient, transparent, and farmer-friendly.
To make the scheme fully digital, a modern web portal and software system are being developed with the help of the National Informatics Center (NIC). Through this portal, farmers will be able to submit applications, upload documents, complete verification, receive approvals, and get benefits without physical paperwork.
Earlier, while online applications were possible, many steps, such as verification and approval, required offline visits. This caused delays and inconvenience. The new system will remove these issues and also help reduce the chances of corruption.
Launched in 2019 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme provides financial protection to farmers and their families in case of accidents. According to the Revenue Council’s data till December 2025, a total of 29,394 applications have been approved.
The Lucknow division recorded the highest number with 3,569 approvals, followed by the Gorakhpur division with 3,143 cases. Ayodhya division saw 2,491 beneficiaries, while Kanpur division recorded 2,436 approved applications. These numbers show the growing reach and acceptance of the scheme among farmers.
Under this welfare scheme, farmers or their families receive financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh in case of death or permanent disability caused by an accident. The approved compensation amount is transferred directly into the beneficiary’s bank account, ensuring quick and secure support during difficult times.
With the digital system in place, farmers will also be able to track the status of their applications online, removing confusion and delays.
The digitisation of the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme reflects the state government’s strong focus on Digital India and e-governance. This move will save time, reduce costs, and improve transparency in the delivery of benefits.
The Uttar Pradesh government aims to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out. Once fully implemented, the online system will help farmers receive timely financial help during accidents or disasters, offering much-needed security and peace of mind to farming families across the state.
The digitisation of the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme marks a significant step towards making farmer welfare faster, transparent, and convenient. With all processes moving online, eligible farmers and their families will receive financial assistance directly in their bank accounts, eliminating the need for office visits. The scheme ensures timely support of up to ₹5 lakh in case of accidents, strengthening financial security for farmers across Uttar Pradesh.
