Cotton MSP registration deadline: December 31, 2025.
MSP for long-staple cotton is fixed at ₹8,110 per quintal.
Over 41 lakh farmers registered across India.
Kapas Farmers App registration is mandatory.
CCI procurement is improving market prices.
Farmers planning to sell cotton at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) should complete their registration immediately, as the last date is December 31, 2025. The registration process is mandatory and is done through the Kapas Farmers App launched by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI). With market prices under pressure, MSP has become the biggest support for cotton growers this season.

After tariff issues with the United States, the Indian government removed the import duty on cotton. This move caused cotton prices in the open market to fall sharply. Because of this, MSP is now the only reliable option for farmers to get a fair price for their produce.
For the current season, the MSP for long-staple cotton is ₹8,110 per quintal. Since import duty relaxation will continue till December 31, open market prices may keep fluctuating. Registering with CCI ensures farmers can sell cotton at MSP without price risk.
Interest in MSP registration is growing fast. So far:
Around 7 lakh farmers from Maharashtra have registered
Nearly 41 lakh farmers across India have completed registration
Farmer leaders believe the actual number of cotton growers, especially in regions like Vidarbha, is much higher. CCI officials say app-based registration has made the process faster, with around 50,000 farmers registering daily.
As CCI increased cotton procurement, private market rates have also improved slightly. Earlier, cotton prices had dropped to nearly ₹6,800 per quintal, but now many markets are seeing prices close to ₹7,400 per quintal.
Private traders often reduce prices by calling cotton quality inferior. However, with MSP procurement, farmers now have stronger bargaining power.

According to Roshan Kothari, APMC Director from Wani in Yavatmal district, cotton production is lower this year. This could work in favor of farmers. He said that if prices reach ₹8,000 per quintal, growers can earn good profits.
Selling cotton at MSP is only possible through the Kapas Farmers App. Here is the simple step-by-step process:
Step 1: Download the App
Go to the Google Play Store or App Store on your smartphone. Search for “Kapas Farmers” and download the official CCI app.
Step 2: Start Registration
Open the app and click on “Farmer Registration” or “Register Now”.
Step 3: Enter Personal Details
Fill in Aadhaar-linked mobile number, name, father or guardian name, date of birth, gender, address, district, state, and pincode.
Step 4: Add Land and Crop Details
Provide land ownership details (own or leased), field survey number or 7/12 Utara, and cotton sowing information.
Step 5: Verification
After online registration, physical verification by the local APMC or the agriculture department is mandatory.
Step 6: Book a Slot
Once verified, farmers can book a date and time slot through the app to deliver cotton at the nearest CCI procurement centre.
Registration is mandatory to sell cotton at the MSP
Last date: December 31, 2025
Physical verification is compulsory
Without app registration, MSP benefits will not be available
With falling market prices and relaxation of import duties, MSP remains the safest option for cotton farmers this season. Farmers who delay registration risk losing the MSP benefit. Complete the Kapas Farmers App registration as soon as possible to secure the MSP rate and avoid last-minute problems.

With cotton prices under pressure due to import duty removal, MSP remains the most reliable support for farmers. Timely registration on the Kapas Farmers App is essential to secure fair prices and avoid market losses. As CCI procurement increases and prices show signs of recovery, farmers should complete registration and verification before the December 31 deadline to benefit from assured MSP sales and stable income.
