CCI extends cotton MSP registration till October 31, 2025.
550 procurement centres to open across 11 cotton-growing regions.
MSP fixed at ₹7,710 (medium) and ₹8,110 (long-staple) per quintal.
Digital payment via Aadhaar-linked accounts with SMS alerts.
Cotton procurement to begin region-wise from October 1, 2025.
The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has given a big relief to cotton farmers by extending the last date of registration for MSP procurement. Farmers can now register through the Kapas Kisan Mobile App till October 31, 2025. The earlier deadline was September 30, 2025. This decision was taken after several farmers reported technical issues and delays during registration.
Many farmers had been unable to register for the MSP procurement due to technical or connectivity problems. The extended registration window will allow these farmers to complete the process and sell their cotton to the CCI at the government-declared Minimum Support Price (MSP). Farmers have been urged to register on time through the Cotton Farmer Mobile App to ensure smooth sale and timely payment.
Recently, Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, reviewed the cotton procurement preparations for the 2025–26 Kharif season with CCI officials and state representatives. She highlighted that this move aims to make the process transparent, efficient, and farmer-friendly. Cotton is a crucial crop for millions of Indian farmers, and the government is committed to ensuring hassle-free procurement, prompt payments, and digital inclusion across the country.
To simplify the process and make cotton selling easier for farmers, 550 procurement centres are being established across 11 cotton-producing regions of India. This is one of the largest procurement initiatives so far. These centres will help farmers sell their cotton locally during the peak season.
For the Kharif 2025–26 season, the MSP for medium-staple cotton has been set at ₹7,710 per quintal, while long-staple cotton will fetch ₹8,110 per quintal, marking an increase of ₹589 compared to the previous season.
The Ministry of Textiles has planned region-wise procurement dates to ensure smooth buying and prevent delays.
Northern Region (Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan): Procurement started from October 1, 2025
Central Region (Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha): Procurement to begin from October 15, 2025
Southern Region (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu): Procurement to start from October 21, 2025

The government is encouraging all farmers to use the “Cotton Farmer Mobile App” for registration and updates. The app offers several convenient features:
Farmers can register directly through the app.
They can book 7-day slots for selling their produce.
The app allows real-time tracking of payment status.
States have been directed to run awareness drives to ensure that farmers understand the app’s benefits. Those already registered on state portals should verify their data on the app.
To ensure fair and fast payments, the government has made the entire process digital and transparent. Payments will be made directly to the farmer’s Aadhaar-linked bank account via the NACH system. Additionally, SMS alerts will keep farmers informed about every stage, from bill generation to payment confirmation.
The Cotton Corporation of India has formed Local Monitoring Committees (LMCs) to handle farmer complaints promptly. A dedicated WhatsApp helpline has also been launched for assistance. Moreover, states have been advised to link land records of cotton farmers to the mobile app to make registration even smoother.
The Ministry of Textiles has urged all eligible farmers to complete their registration by October 31, 2025, to take full advantage of the MSP system. The government’s goal is to provide every farmer with fair pricing, transparency, and timely payments.
In her concluding remarks, Secretary Neelam Shami Rao stated that with the joint efforts of the Ministry, state governments, and the CCI, the cotton procurement system will become modern, efficient, and entirely farmer-centric in the coming season.
The extension of the registration date till October 31, 2025, gives farmers a major relief and ensures that no eligible grower misses out on MSP benefits. With digital tools like the Cotton Farmer App, transparent payments, and 550 new procurement centres, the government aims to create a smooth and transparent cotton-selling experience. This initiative strengthens farmers’ trust and promotes fair trade across India.
