₹10,324 crore transferred directly to farmers.
Over 2.5 million farmers benefited.
Paddy bonus difference cleared before Holi.
Payment made under Krishak Unnati Yojana.
Direct boost to the rural economy and crop planning.
In a big Holi gift for farmers, the Chhattisgarh government has transferred more than ₹10,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 25 lakh farmers. The amount was paid as the difference in the paddy purchase bonus, bringing financial relief and festive joy to farming families across the state.
This direct benefit transfer has doubled the happiness of Holi for millions of farmers and strengthened their trust in the state government.
The state government deposited the pending difference amount of paddy procurement directly into farmers bank accounts. A total of around ₹10,324 crore was transferred in one go, benefiting nearly 2.528 million farmers.
The payment was made under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, fulfilling a key promise made to farmers during the elections. Farmers had been waiting for this bonus difference for a long time, and its release before Holi has brought relief and excitement.
The major announcement was made during a large farmers conference held in Bilha, Bilaspur district. At the event, the lump sum payment was officially released, ensuring that the funds reached beneficiaries directly through their bank accounts.
Many farmers shared that receiving the money just before Holi brought happiness to their families. With this financial support, they will be able to celebrate the festival with more enthusiasm and also plan better for the upcoming crop season.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that his government is fully committed to the dignity, prosperity, and empowerment of farmers. He described the payment as a symbol of respect for the hard work of paddy growers.
He stated that the happiness of the state lies in the happiness of farmers. According to him, a strong farming community means a strong state economy. He assured farmers that the government will continue to make decisions in their best interest and ensure that they receive a fair price for their produce.
The government has requested farmers to check their bank accounts to confirm the credit of funds. Officials said that the amount has already been deposited in most accounts. For those who have not yet received the payment, the process is ongoing.
Administrative officers have been directed to resolve any issues quickly so that no eligible farmer is left out.
Experts believe that transferring such a large amount directly to farmers will boost economic activity in villages. When farmers have cash in hand, they can invest in seeds, fertilizers, farming equipment, and other essential inputs for the next crop season.
This spending will increase buying and selling in local markets and create more employment opportunities in rural areas. As a result, the overall rural economy is expected to see positive growth.
The bonus payment on the occasion of Holi has been seen as a special gift for farmers. It has brought a festive atmosphere of happiness and confidence to lakhs of homes across the state.
This step is not only aimed at improving the financial condition of farmers but also at accelerating the overall development of the state. The transfer of over ₹10,000 crore has provided major relief to farmers, ensuring that the colors of Holi shine brighter from the fields to their homes.
