Event to be held on 28-29 June in Jashpur
Aims to connect farmers with national markets
Exhibition and crop quality competition planned
Direct contracts are possible through FPOs
Focus on organic produce, silk, and forest products
In a major step towards transforming the agricultural sector, the Chhattisgarh government is organizing the Agri-Horti Buyer-Seller Conference 2025 on 28th and 29th June at the District Panchayat Complex, Jashpur. This two-day event aims to help farmers get better prices for their produce and connect them to national markets.
The conference is part of the “Krishi Kranti” campaign by the Chhattisgarh government. It is focused on giving a new identity and direction to agriculture, horticulture, and silk production in Jashpur district. This is the first time such an event is being held in the region, where farmers will interact directly with national-level entrepreneurs.
On 28th June, the first day of the event will include:
Introductory sessions between farmers and buyers
Technical information on crop protection, quality standards, and export guidelines
Workshops on modern farming technology, storage systems, and marketing
An exhibition of crops and produce from agriculture, horticulture, silk, and the forest sectors
These activities aim to help farmers understand the latest farming methods and improve their product value through better packaging and processing.
On 29th June, buyers and investors from across India will:
Visit farms in the district
Understand the quality and variety of local agricultural produce
Explore direct contracts with farmers through FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations)
This initiative will make direct farmer-to-company interactions easier, improving access to larger markets and reducing dependence on middlemen.
Organic farming
Silk rearing
Forest herbs and medicinal plants
Local products like Jashpuri mango, pear, Kodo-kutki, silk thread, and herbs will get a national platform through this event. Important stakeholders, including national and state-level agricultural institutes, exporters, and experts, have been invited to support farmers.
To motivate farmers, the conference will also host a crop quality competition:
Special focus on pear and mango produce
Aimed at promoting better quality crops
Encouraging farmers to adopt best farming practices
The conference is expected to open new doors for self-employment in:
Contract farming
Food processing
Value addition and packaging
Branding and marketing
Farmers will also get an opportunity to partner with entrepreneurs for promoting their products, resulting in higher income and market recognition.
The Agri-Horti Buyer-Seller Conference 2025 is a revolutionary step by the Chhattisgarh government. It aims to:
Empower farmers technically and economically
Remove middlemen and ensure fair prices
Promote local produce in national markets
Encourage entrepreneurship among farmers
