Total yearly aid of ₹20,000 under the scheme.
₹3,174 crore distributed in the first phase.
The scheme is part of TDP’s Super Six promises.
Focus on drought solutions and trade issues.
The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a major welfare scheme for the state's farmers, providing direct financial aid to help boost income and improve their quality of life. Under the Annadata Sukhibhav Yojana, eligible farmers will receive ₹20,000 annually in three installments. In the first phase, ₹7,000 has already been credited to the bank accounts of 47 lakh farmers.
This scheme aims to economically empower small and marginal farmers. Farmers will receive a total of ₹20,000 per year, divided into three parts:
₹14,000 from the Andhra Pradesh state government
₹6,000 from the PM Kisan Yojana by the central government
In the first installment, ₹7,000 was disbursed, with ₹5,000 from the state and ₹2,000 from the central government.
The official launch of the scheme was held at East Veerayapalem village in Darsi Mandal, Prakasam district, where Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu handed over symbolic cheques to two farmers and sanctioned an additional ₹29 crore for the Darsi constituency.
₹2,343 crore from the Andhra Pradesh government
₹831 crore from the central government’s PM Kisan Yojana
CM Naidu said, "It is a proud moment to transfer money to farmers while sitting in the sun on their land. As long as Chandranna is here, farmers will continue to get help."
The Annadata Sukhibhav Yojana is part of the Telugu Desam Party’s ‘Super Six’ promises made before the elections. These include:
3 free gas cylinders per year for every family
₹15,000 annually for children's education
₹1,500 monthly aid to women aged 19-59
Free bus travel for women starting August 15
Financial help to farmers
River linking plan to solve water scarcity
CM Naidu also spoke about addressing the state's drought problem by linking rivers and completing the Polavaram project by December 2027. He raised concerns about the 25% tax hike by the US on aquaculture products, adding that he would hold discussions with farmers to find solutions.
The Annadata Sukhibhava Yojana promises a brighter future for farmers in Andhra Pradesh. It is a move towards self-reliance and higher income for farmers, while also ensuring social security. This initiative will help increase crop productivity and ensure a prosperous rural economy in the state.
