Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a major initiative for the farming community. Under the Solar Pump Yojana 2025, over 3 lakh farmers will receive solar pumps, either free of cost or with up to 70% subsidy. This announcement was made during his address to Non-Resident Indians in Barcelona, Spain, where he highlighted Madhya Pradesh as a powerful investment destination and not just a possibility.
This move aims to promote green energy and reduce farmers’ dependence on electricity, bringing permanent relief from electricity bills.

Under the MP Solar Pump Subsidy Scheme, the government will provide solar pumps to support farmers in irrigation and sustainable farming. Here are the main benefits:
Solar pumps will be given to 3 lakh farmers free or with up to 70% subsidy.
Reduces dependence on electricity for irrigation.
Farmers will get permanent relief from rising electricity bills.
Promotes eco-friendly farming (green agriculture).
Enhances crop productivity and lowers production costs.
This initiative is expected to make Madhya Pradesh a green energy state and economically strengthen farmers.
The government has made the application process online for farmers. Here’s how to apply:
Visit the official portal https://mnre.gov.in or the state’s energy department website.
Complete the farmer registration process.
Select the solar pump scheme option.
Upload documents like Aadhaar card, land records, farmer registration number, bank passbook, etc.
Submit the application and keep the acknowledgement receipt.
Once selected, the department will contact farmers for the installation process.
CM Yadav proudly shared that Madhya Pradesh has overtaken Punjab in wheat production. He emphasized the government's efforts in developing agri-based industries, food processing units, and agri-clusters. These developments aim to:
