Volvo Trucks secured 19% European heavy-duty market share in 2025.
Market leadership achieved for the second consecutive year.
FH Aero recorded nearly 33,000 orders across Europe.
Strong performance in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, and Lithuania.
Net-zero emissions target set for 2040 using multiple technologies.
Volvo Trucks has once again emerged as the leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer in Europe, securing the top position for the second consecutive year. The Swedish truck maker achieved a strong 19.0% market share in 2025, up from 17.9% in 2024, in the heavy-duty segment covering vehicles with a gross weight of 16 tonnes and above.
Volvo Trucks saw high registration numbers in several major European countries during 2025. The United Kingdom, France, Poland, Germany, and Lithuania were the company’s top-performing markets, contributing significantly to its overall leadership position.
The market data covers the EU30 region, which includes the European Union, the UK, Norway, and Switzerland.
A major growth driver for Volvo Trucks in 2025 was the FH Aero long-haul truck. Nearly 33,000 units of the model were ordered across Europe during the year. The FH Aero replaces the standard FH model and offers up to 7% better fuel efficiency, thanks to improved aerodynamics and the use of digital camera mirrors.
The enhanced fuel savings and efficiency made the FH Aero a popular choice among European fleet operators and long-distance hauliers.
Commenting on the achievement, Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, said the company is proud to lead the European market for the second year in a row. He added that market leadership reflects the strong trust customers place in Volvo Trucks and supports the company’s goal of being the best business partner for transport operators.
Beyond Europe, Volvo Trucks continues to maintain a solid global footprint. As of 2025, the brand holds either the number one or number two position in 30 countries worldwide.
In 2024, Volvo Trucks delivered around 134,000 vehicles globally, supported by a wide dealer network with 2,200 service points across nearly 130 countries.
Volvo Trucks is working towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 through a three-pillar technology strategy. This includes battery electric trucks, fuel cell electric vehicles, and combustion engines powered by renewable fuels such as green hydrogen, biogas, biodiesel, and HVO.
According to Alm, investing in multiple technologies allows Volvo Trucks to offer transport solutions suited to different markets and customer needs.

Volvo Trucks continued leadership in Europe highlights its strong product strategy, customer trust, and focus on efficiency. With rising demand for the FH Aero, expanding global presence, and a clear multi-technology roadmap toward net-zero emissions, the company is well positioned for future growth. Its ability to balance performance, sustainability, and innovation keeps Volvo Trucks ahead in the competitive heavy-duty truck market.
