PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY), a prominent scheme for small and marginal farmers, offers an annual grant of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmers.

The Uttar Pradesh government is increasing its efforts to reach as many farmers as possible through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY), a prominent scheme for small and marginal farmers. The scheme offers an annual grant of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmers.
The state administration has now launched a new campaign to ensure that all eligible farmers are covered under the scheme by October 15. Several initiatives have been implemented by the agriculture department, including door-to-door surveys and the establishment of helpdesks at state agricultural seed facilities.
Around 20% of all farmers registered under the initiative in Uttar Pradesh have had their paperwork rejected by the state administration. As a result, they are no longer eligible for the scheme's benefits.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a Central Government Scheme. It is totally funded by the Government of India. It became active on December 1, 2018. Every land-holding farmer household will receive income support of 6,000/- per year in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 under the scheme.
Under this scheme, the family word includes husband, wife, and children. The government and the administration will choose the farmer families as per the scheme's criteria. The funds will be deposited directly to the beneficiary’s bank accounts in three installments.
This scheme provides financial help to farmers. Farmers can use this money to buy fertilizer, seeds, insecticides, tractors, and other agricultural equipment.

According to Surya Pratap Shahi, the Agriculture Minister of Uttar Pradesh, just 2.05 crore of the more than 2.6 crore farmers enrolled in the scheme have finished the verification process for their bank accounts and Aadhaar cards. The other farmers have either failed to provide the required documents or have some mistakes in their Aadhaar cards and land title records.
As a result, the government has asked officials to establish a platform for farmers' e-KYC and Aadhaar. Farmers who have not had their land records authenticated will be forced to do so at the tehsil level. The agriculture department is also deploying staff to several common service centres to finish the farmers' e-KYC.
Furthermore, officials have been directed to conduct a thorough survey to verify eligible farmers. This idea might be expanded through village-level gatherings and 'Kisan Pathshalas,' as officials have suggested.
The government's efforts to reach as many farmers as possible through the PMKSNY plan are a positive move. Small and marginal farmers in Uttar Pradesh would benefit from the scheme, which will provide much-needed financial help.
