
Three-wheeler sales of 102,426 units set a new monthly sales milestone in September, representing a healthy 49% year-on-year growth in sales.

The whole segment of 3-wheelers sold 102,462 units in September 2023, a 44.98% increase over the 70,673 units sold in September 2022.

The FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealership Association) shared sales data for 3-wheeler OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for the month of September. The FADA 3-wheeler retail sales report for September 2023 indicates an increase of 44.98%.
Three-wheeler sales of 102,426 units set a new monthly sales milestone in September 2023, representing a healthy 49% year-on-year growth and a 5% month-on-month increase on a high month-ago basis. This is the first time three-wheeler sales have surpassed 100,000, surpassing the previous high of 99,907 units in August 2023.
Electric three-wheelers are the EV industry's low-hanging fruit, accounting for 49% of total three-wheeler sales last month with 49,765 units sold, up 40% YoY (September 2022: 35,483 units). This also means that every other three-wheeler sold in India is now electric.
With a new model, market leader Bajaj Auto recorded the highest sales growth of 63.18% and with this data, Bajaj Auto took the lead in vehicle sales. Except for Saarthi, all of the other brands enjoyed positive sales increases. The whole segment of 3-wheelers sold 102,462 units in September 2023, a 44.98% increase over the 70,673 units sold in September 2022.
OEM-wise Sales Report and Comparison
OEM-wise sales trends of companies, as well as the percentage changes every month. September 2023 saw some companies achieving amazing feats while some have shown a decline in their sales pattern.
Bajaj Auto showed a growth rate of 63.18%, by selling 35,639 units in September 2023 compared to 21,840 in September 2022.
Piaggio remained in second place after selling 7,550 vehicles in September 2023. In September 2022, the brand sold 5,555 units, representing a 36% increase.
Mahindra sold 5,804 in September 2023 as compared to 4,342 units in September 2022. As a result, the brand saw a 33.67% increase in sales in September 2023.
Y.C. Electric sold 3,992 units in September 2023, as compared to 2,565 units sold in September 2022. The brand’s sales increased by 55.63%.
Mayuri sold 3,139 three-wheelers In September 2023, up from 2,352 in the Sep 2022. As a result, the brand's sales grew by 33.46%.
Dilli Electric Auto Pvt. Ltd., commonly known as Citylife, sold 2,338 units in September 2023, up from 1,549 units in September 2022. As a result, the company saw a 50.94% increase in sales.

Atul Auto's retail sales figures increased by 36.21%. In September 2023, Atul Auto sold 2,163 units, up from 1,588 in September 2022.
TVS Motors sold 1,406 three-wheelers in September 2023, up from 1,238 in September 2022, representing a 13.57% increase in sales.
Mini Metro sold 1,394 units in September 2023, up from 1,166 in September 2022. The brand's sales increased by 19.55%.
Saarthi is the only brand which saw a 7% drop in sales in September 2023. The brand sold 1,317 units in September 2023, compared to 1,417 in September 2022.
J.S. Auto Company reported a good sales revenue of 61.27%. It sold 1,295 units in September 2023, up from 803 in September 2022.
All other brands show a 38.72% increase in sales. In September 2023, they sold 36,425 units, up from 26,258 in September 2022.
