Tata Motors Registers 2% Drop in Commercial Vehicle Sales for January 2024

In the combined Commercial Vehicle (CV) segment, encompassing both Domestic (CV Domestic) and International Business (CV IB), Tata Motors reported total sales of 32,092 units in January 2024.

Total units sold in the HCV Trucks category in January 2024 were 8,906 compared to 9,994 in January 2023, representing a decline of 11%.

Tata Motors Limited, a leading global automobile manufacturer, has reported impressive sales figures for January 2024. The company registered a total of 86,125 units in sales, showcasing a significant increase compared to the same period last year.

In January 2023, Tata Motors recorded a total sales of 81,069 units, indicating a commendable year-on-year growth. The domestic and international markets played a pivotal role in this achievement, with the company's vehicles finding strong demand in both markets.

The domestic sales for Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV), including trucks and buses, reached 14,440 units in January 2024. While this figure slightly decreased from the 14,716 units recorded in January 2023, Tata Motors remains a key player in the domestic commercial vehicle market.

The combined total of MH&ICV sales, encompassing both the domestic and international business, stood at 14,972 units in January 2024. This is marginally lower than the 15,057 units reported in the same period last year.

Breaking down the sales figures by category, the company reported the following performance in January 2024 compared to January 2023:

HCV and ILMCV Trucks

Total units sold in the HCV Trucks category in January 2024 were 8,906 compared to 9,994 in January 2023, representing a decline of 11%.

Total units sold in the ILMCV Trucks in January 2024 were 4,743, with no significant change from 4,755 in January 2023.

Passenger Carriers and SCV cargo and Pickup Category

Tata Motors' passenger carrier segment witnessed a remarkable 36% growth in January 2024, boasting the highest growth rate across all categories. Sales reached 3,872 units, a significant increase from 2,851 units in January 2023.

However, in the SCV Cargo and Pickup segment, there was a 7% decline, with a total of 13,122 units sold in January 2024 compared to 14,094 in January 2023.
