The buses were procured through an open tender process managed by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) in India. The National Transport Corporation (NTC), Mauritius’ state-owned public transport operator, will operate these electric buses. The delivery forms part of a government-to-government initiative, with India donating 100 electric buses to Mauritius. This effort aims to promote clean mobility and modernize public transportation in the island nation.
This export represents a significant milestone in India’s electric vehicle industry. The 100 electric buses supplied by Switch Mobility are intended to support Mauritius’ transition to sustainable transport. The initiative aligns with Mauritius’ goals to reduce emissions and improve the efficiency of its public transport system.
The buses were delivered under the CESL tender, ensuring transparency and competitive procurement. The National Transport Corporation will integrate these buses into its fleet, enhancing urban mobility for daily commuters. This project demonstrates the effectiveness of international cooperation in advancing clean transportation solutions.
The delivery of these electric buses strengthens the partnership between India and Mauritius. It highlights India’s growing capabilities in manufacturing electric vehicles for global markets. The export also supports Mauritius’ broader environmental objectives, contributing to lower emissions and a more sustainable urban environment.
Mr. Ganesh Mani, CEO of Switch Mobility, stated that Mauritius is making important progress toward a cleaner public transport system. He emphasized that the completion of the 100-bus delivery is a key step in the country’s shift to electric mobility. The initiative brings benefits for urban efficiency, environmental sustainability, and daily commuters.
This export is a significant achievement for Switch Mobility as it expands its presence in international markets. The company remains committed to supporting countries like Mauritius in developing greener and more resilient transport systems. The successful delivery sets a benchmark for future collaborations in clean mobility between India and other nations.
