India’s first onboard coffee service on city buses.
Launched by Cityflo and abcoffee in Mumbai.
Passengers can pre-order drinks via the Cityflo app.
Beverages are delivered directly to bus seats.
Pilot may expand to more routes soon.
Mumbai-based urban mobility startup Cityflo has partnered with popular coffee brand abcoffee to launch India’s first onboard coffee service for city buses. This innovative pilot program, rolled out in October 2025, allows passengers to pre-order their favorite beverages through the Cityflo app and get them delivered directly to their seats while traveling.
The service is currently being tested on select routes in Mumbai, aiming to bring more comfort and convenience to daily commuters who often spend long hours on the road.
The new feature enables passengers to place beverage orders right from the Cityflo app, either while waiting at their boarding point or during their journey. Once the order is placed, abcoffee manages the entire process, from preparation to delivery, so riders can enjoy a fresh, cafe-style experience without leaving their seats.
With a curated beverage menu designed for quick delivery, passengers can enjoy their morning coffee or evening refreshment without making additional stops or standing in queues.
Speaking about the initiative, Rushabh Shah, Chief Business Officer at Cityflo, said, “With this pilot, we’re bringing the convenience and comfort of a café into the bus. The goal is to make waiting, traveling, and arriving smoother, and maybe a little more enjoyable too.”
He added that the concept takes inspiration from pre-booking options available in airline and train travel, bringing similar comfort to daily city commuting.
abcoffee, known for its specialty-grade coffee and quick-service model, is handling the beverage experience from order to seat delivery.
Abhijeet Anand, Founder and CEO of abcoffee, highlighted the human aspect behind this collaboration: “When we looked at how thousands of Cityflo riders spend over an hour each day commuting, we saw an opportunity to make that time more human, more delightful.”
He described the initiative as India’s first food and beverage service designed for land-based transit, a move that could redefine how people experience daily travel.
This onboard coffee pilot is a key step in Cityflo’s long-term plan to evolve from a premium bus operator into a multi-layered mobility ecosystem. The company continues to focus on professional drivers, punctual service, and clean vehicles while adding lifestyle-oriented experiences to enhance passenger satisfaction.
The pilot program will run for one month, after which both companies will evaluate passenger feedback. If successful, Cityflo and abcoffee plan to expand the service to more routes across Mumbai and introduce additional menu options in the coming phases.
By blending technology, convenience, and comfort, Cityflo and abcoffee are reshaping how Mumbai travels. This unique initiative not only redefines bus commuting but also demonstrates how innovation can make everyday journeys more relaxed, personalized, and enjoyable.
