Olectra Greentech Limited has appointed Dr Allabaksh Naikodi as Head - EV Systems to boost its capabilities in electric powertrain engineering and battery system integration. This leadership move reflects the company’s strong focus on advancing electric vehicle (EV) technology across its product portfolio, especially in electric buses and large-format mobility solutions.
The appointment comes at a time when India’s electric mobility sector is growing rapidly. With this step, Olectra aims to strengthen its technical expertise and accelerate innovation in power electronics, battery systems, and next-generation EV platforms.
Dr Naikodi is widely recognised as one of India’s leading EV experts. He brings rich experience in end-to-end design and development of key EV components. His expertise covers eDrives, chargers, advanced battery management systems (BMS), and battery packs used in two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, and electric buses.
He has a proven track record in EV power electronics and system optimisation. During his tenure at the Mahindra Group, he received the highest innovation award for designing an EV powertrain known for best-in-class efficiency. He also holds 12 patents in EV technologies, highlighting his strong contribution to innovation and engineering excellence.
Before joining Olectra, Dr. Naikodi served as Chief Technology Officer at JLNPhenix Energy. He also held key leadership positions such as Head of EV at Royal Enfield, Head of R&D (Electrical and Electronics) at Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, and Lead Architect at Schneider Electric.
Earlier in his career, he worked with leading organisations including Tech Mahindra, Satyam Computer Services, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, HBL Nife Power Systems, and ABB Inc. This diverse industry exposure has helped him build deep knowledge across EV systems, electronics, and industrial technologies.
Beyond corporate leadership, Dr. Naikodi also plays an important role in shaping India’s EV ecosystem. He serves as a Member of the National EV Steering Committee and is the Chairman of the EV Project Review Committee for the Government of India. His involvement at the policy level highlights his influence in guiding the country’s electric mobility roadmap.
Academically, Dr. Naikodi is a gold medalist from PDA College of Engineering. He also holds a Ph.D. from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His strong academic foundation, combined with extensive industry experience, makes him a valuable addition to Olectra’s leadership team.
