PMI Electro Mobility, an electric vehicle manufacturer, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REC (previously Rural Electrification Corporation), a public-sector organization and pioneer in providing financial assistance for power sector growth.
The signing ceremony took place during the REC's 'Green Finance' Summit, which was held on the fringes of the Clean Energy Ministerial and the Energy Transition Working Group Ministerial, against the backdrop of India's G20 Presidency. As part of the MoU, PMI would be able to obtain INR 480 crore in debt from REC to meet its funding needs.
The REC-hosted 'Green Finance' Summit, held in conjunction with the Indian Government's G20 Presidency, provides a unique platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to collaborate and make meaningful partnerships to advance the country's transition to clean energy and green mobility.
REC, a significant participant in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicle financing, will provide critical financial assistance to PMI Electro Mobility and its connected enterprises for the next five years, through March 2028.
With the funding support from REC, PMI intends to undertake a series of ambitious renewable energy projects that will make a significant impact on India's energy landscape.
