Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on Friday, January 17, 2025. This six-day event will showcase over 100 launches across automobiles, components, and advanced mobility technologies.
PM Modi Supports India's Auto Industry Growth at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured full government support for India's auto sector, aiming to make the country a global manufacturing hub. Speaking at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, he emphasized the development of a strong ecosystem, including FDI, technology transfer, and global partnerships.
He also highlighted the need for India to focus on battery manufacturing and green technologies. Modi further mentioned that the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme had created over 1.5 lakh jobs and praised India’s status as a young, growing economy, ideal for the auto industry.
With factors such as an expanding middle class, rapid urbanization, and rising demand for affordable vehicles, India is seen as a major opportunity for growth in the mobility sector. Concluding his speech, Modi said, “The future belongs to the East, to Asia, to India. The growth in India is opening doors of opportunity for the auto industry, and the journey to a developed India will involve expanding the auto sector.”
Focus on Future Automotive Value Chain
This year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo theme is “Beyond Boundaries: Co-creating Future Automotive Value Chain”. This theme emphasizes sustainable and advanced technologies. Events will take place across three main locations: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
Uniting the Mobility Ecosystem
The expo will bring together automobile giants, component manufacturers, tyre makers, energy storage producers, software innovators, and recyclers under one roof.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and leading industry bodies such as SIAM, ACMA, IESA, and Nasscom. With over 5,100 international delegates and an estimated 5 lakh visitors, it’s set to be one of the largest mobility events of the year.
Electric Vehicles Steal the Spotlight
Electric vehicles are a key attraction at the Auto expo 2025. Greaves Cotton is set to showcase electric three-wheelers for cargo and passenger transport, focusing on urban and semi-urban areas. Ashok Leyland plans to unveil a production-ready model of the Dost-based van, first displayed at Auto Expo 2024. Omega Seiki Mobility will showcase electric trucks and three-wheelers built for last-mile cargo and passenger transport.
Montra Electric, part of the Murugappa Group, will debut its electric mini truck and three-wheelers for cargo mobility. Numeros is expected to enter the cargo three-wheeler market, adding to its popular Diplos range. Over 40 new EV launches are expected, highlighting India’s transition toward electric mobility.
Components and Construction Equipment Show
Components Show (Jan 18–21, Yashobhoomi): Over 1,000 exhibitors from seven countries, including Japan, Germany, and South Korea, will present more than 60 new products and technologies.
Bharat Construction Equipment Expo (Jan 19–22, Greater Noida): A first-of-its-kind event focusing on construction equipment innovations, featuring component makers, suppliers, and tech providers.
