₹531 crore subsidy approved under PM-KUSUM Component C.
553 solar energy producers in Rajasthan will benefit.
₹379.41 crore allocated for 432 producers in the Jodhpur area.
₹151.21 crore approved for 121 producers in the Ajmer area.
Rajasthan ranks third in India under the PM-KUSUM Component C implementation.
In a major boost for farmers and solar energy producers in Rajasthan, the Government of India has approved Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of ₹531 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme. The approved amount will benefit 553 solar energy producers across the state and is expected to be transferred to their bank accounts soon.
The financial support is expected to strengthen solar energy projects, promote clean energy production, and provide farmers with an additional source of income beyond traditional farming activities.
According to the Rajasthan government, the financial assistance has been approved under Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme. This component focuses on the solarization of agricultural feeders through the installation of decentralized solar power plants.
The scheme supports farmers and energy producers who contribute to clean energy generation in the agricultural sector. By encouraging solar power production, the government aims to improve energy security while reducing dependence on conventional electricity sources.
A significant portion of the approved subsidy has been allocated to beneficiaries in the Jodhpur and Ajmer power distribution company (DISCOM) areas.
In the area served by Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JDVVNL), 432 solar power producers have installed solar plants with a combined capacity of around 429 MW. For these projects, the central government has approved financial assistance of ₹379.41 crore.
Similarly, in the Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL) region, 121 solar power producers have installed solar power plants with a total capacity of 169 MW. These beneficiaries have been approved for central financial assistance of ₹151.21 crore.
The respective DISCOMs are expected to transfer the approved subsidy amount to the beneficiaries' bank accounts shortly.
Rajasthan’s three major power distribution companies-Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer DISCOMs-have been actively pursuing central assistance under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
So far, claims worth ₹1,012 crore have been submitted to the central government. Based on these claims, Rajasthan has already received ₹670 crore in central financial assistance, benefiting 720 solar power producers across the state.
The figures highlight the coordinated efforts of both the central and state governments to expand solar energy infrastructure and support renewable energy projects in rural areas.
Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme was introduced to improve energy self-reliance in the agricultural sector.
Under this component, decentralized solar power plants with capacities of up to 5 MW can be installed on barren, infertile, or underutilized land located within a 5-kilometre radius of a power substation. The electricity generated from these plants is used to solarize agricultural feeders.
This helps ensure a reliable daytime electricity supply for farmers while reducing the financial burden on power distribution companies.
The central government provides financial support of up to 30% of the project cost. Under the scheme, assistance is available up to a maximum of ₹1.05 crore per MW.
Rajasthan continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading solar energy states. Under Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, the state has installed 1,312 solar projects with a total capacity of 3,371 MW.
Among these:
The Jodhpur DISCOM area has installed solar projects with a capacity of 2,647 MW.
The Ajmer DISCOM area has installed a 373 MW capacity.
The Jaipur DISCOM area has installed 352 MW of capacity.
Due to this rapid growth, Rajasthan has secured the third position in the country in the implementation of Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme.
Experts believe that the newly approved ₹531 crore assistance will encourage more farmers and energy producers to participate in solar power projects. Apart from supporting clean energy generation, these projects create an additional and stable source of income for farmers.
With increasing adoption of solar power, Rajasthan is not only strengthening agricultural energy security but also contributing significantly to India's renewable energy goals. The latest subsidy approval is expected to accelerate the state's transition towards sustainable and farmer-friendly energy solutions.

The approval of ₹531 crore under the PM-KUSUM scheme is a major step towards strengthening solar energy adoption in Rajasthan. The financial assistance will benefit 553 solar power producers and help farmers earn additional income through clean energy generation. With thousands of megawatts of solar capacity already installed, Rajasthan continues to emerge as a leader in renewable energy. The initiative will further improve energy security, support sustainable agriculture, and encourage more participation in solar projects.
